I think you are right, people obviously do not all like the same thing, and sometimes things that perhaps should not be popular are, for no discernable reason.

So what then does it mean to "bottle the snake?" Is it to realize that we are all different? Or is it to blaze your own trail, and do things that make you glad, and not things that other people think should make you glad?

In my humble opinion, that would be what to learn; That while the girl's reason for catching the nsnake was good and selfless, people who came after her did not have this reason, yet they still catch snakes. So we must be always awaare of why we do things, lest we find ourselves a slaveto another's will, be it the public, a friend, or even the Status Quo.

That's all I have to say, a very good read Kaji, though perhaps a few Red Herrings that might throw off t he focus of the story...
