Dancing our faceless masquerade
With blinded eyes and ears of jade
A kaleidoscope of sequins that glaringly gleams
Harsh reminders of how unreal it seems
No matter where you look, not a soul in sight
For all are enduring a masked plight
Hiding behind the glitter, shine and gold
Afraid to differ from the uniform mould
Masked silhouettes in a world of sparkles and myrrh
Disguised reminders, reminiscent of what we were
We dance our faceless masquerade
But ever so slowly
The colours fade
