Background light

It was dark outside, but in the darkness

You were a soft light

Brought down from heaven to warm and carress

Souls in broken flight

My fluid tears of fire ran freely then

Against bleak backgrounds

But your comforting lips carressed me when

Pain was out of bounds.

I cared not in my angst for the world

Nor for life or love

You broke my shell and far away it twirled

My sad, outworn glove.

I shine now freely in your background light

Happiness restored.

My once bleak soul fills with wispy delight

It's at last adored.
