Fallen Hearts

Love knows no bounds
I gave up everything to save her
I left her, to protect her
Now I stand before my fear
The clash of swords the clang of steal
The ground turns red as I claim another
My mind turns black as I claim another,
As another claims my tattered soul.
I gave my life to her
I gave my love to her
Now I give my sword to protect her
On the front lines love can not be seen,
But for the letters home, there is no emotion
As I write she is far away, safe, protected,
With my words she is close to me,
The soft whisper of her voice flows in my heart
Now again the bell cries
Now again we prepare to die
Now I must kill to protect her
I fought to protect her
I would die to save her
A messenger came, my home was lost
I deserted the ranks, I gave up my sword
Like a child, afraid of the night, I ran to be with her
I ran to find what I feared, my home lost in fire
My life gone in flames, my love lost in a blaze
My soul consumed in Dante's Inferno
She is lost and I with her . . .
I died to protect her
My body lives, though I am lost
My sword still kills, thought I am dead
I gave up everything to save her
I left her to protect her
I gave my life to her
I gave my love to her
I fought to protect her
I would die to save her
I could not save her,
I could not be there for her,
I will take my revenge for her . . .
I know no fear of death; I am already dead
You can not kill the dead, but the dead can kill you.
I gave my whole damn life for her
Why did she have to die?
Times goes on and still I bathe the earth with blood
I hate those that killed her; I will find them
I hate those who wage war; I will slay them
I hate those who kill others . . .
I hate what I have become
The final march, the final battle
We stand side to side, sword to shield
In ranks we march to our glory, or our deaths
On the foothills of the Southern Line we make a stand
Her image in my mind, my salvation
That one last image, my only thought
Her, with the setting sun the in the background
The way I left her many months ago . . .
I left her to protect her
She was crying when I left,
She knew we would never see each other again
She thought I would die
I fought to protect her
I would die to save her
Now I see myself, standing before an unmarked grave
Standing amidst a field of fire and death
In my mind I have come back to nothing
The destruction of my home . . .
I gave up everything to save her
I gave my life to her
I could not save her,
I could not be there for her,
I gave my life to her
I gave my love to her
A single tear runs down my cheek,
Why did she have to die?
I gave my whole damn life for her
I will take my revenge for her . . .
Every part of my body erupts with anger
I scream the strongest battle cry I know
The name of my fallen heart, my fallen love,
I throw down my shield; I draw my sword
"I am ready to die! Who will take me?"
The enemy at hand, none step forward
I hate what I have become
They all know who I am; the lone warrior, Diablo
They all know the mark of my blade, the stain of blood
They all know fear . . .
I stand alone between two walls of men,
The air, thick with anger and death, none move
Then a call from the line, 'I will take you . . ."
The two walls meet, the two sides fight
Men fall on all sides
They charge me
I will take my revenge for her . . .
They fall
They day moves fast, the fight swift
The ranks of men dwindle, the ranks of death form
I stand alone amongst a field of death,
My blade turned red, the earth turns black
I sweat not water but the blood of the fallen,
I wipe my face clean only to mark it with the stain of my hands.
The day is won, the battle final
The war is over, peace at last for the soldier . . .
I gave up everything to save her
I left her to protect her
I gave my life to her
I gave my love to her
I fought to protect her
I would die to save her
I gave my whole damn life for her
Why did she have to die?
I could not save her,
I could not be there for her,
I have taken my vengeance for her . . .
I lay down my sword, the final victim of its razor edge
Now I go to be with her . . .
