Self-reliance, Self-preservation
Self-depreciation, self-acceptance
We are taught to cling
Come back, return
Yet we ourselves know for sure
Stand on our own two feet
Is the only way to walk
then run as far as possible
from the screaming shells of critisism
the battering rain of bullet stares
and whip lashes of love and loss
on the battlefeild I suddenly
Was spawned halfgrown and knowing
a measure of empathy and hate
lack of which in peers has caused
the flaying of my fragile new body
instead of crying "water!"
i keep my own intestines moist
limping to the northern hill
to watch them kill in perfect agony
while i rise anew as a pheonix reborn
