Dancing: A Poem by Jamie Thomas Durbin

The music sways,
And I do too,
Waving my arms,
My legs,
to the rhythm.

I feel it
Caress me,
Hold me,
Love me,
And I know
I will never have another lover.

The music takes my heart.

The music leaps,
And I leap about,
Dancing a dance only I will know,
Only I will feel,
Only I will know,
My secret dance,
My private dance.

Perhaps, one day,
I'll dance my dance.
But not alone.
For now,
The dance is mine,
My heart.
My soul.

My love.
