FALLING VEIL

FALLING VEIL

The faded dreams are first to slip away.

It takes some time before she sees they're gone,

And night encroaches on her perfect day

To threaten that it won't be very long.

It's always hard to leave loved ones behind.

She fights for breath and yet she cannot stay

To hold her loved ones' hands and intertwine

In their arms. She must let them go their way

As she goes hers. Beyond the veil of breath

She loses life and love with all her pain.

And something in her cries as she sees death

What of the past? Did I live just in vain?

Behind her now lie memories and ghosts

And her delicate dreams gathering dust.
