Middle School Crush
"Another day." A girl mumbled under her breath. This girl was wearing a skirt and a white shirt with a school symbol on its sleeve. She had a book- bag, which a pair of sunglasses hooked on to one of the zippers as if it was a key chain. Her face itself looked rather soul-less, it looked rather sad as if no happiness ever entered this girl.
She put a hat on over her shoulder length hair and left the house. "Bye." She said in a rather boring voice.
"Bye Kioko" said an older sounding voice from inside the house.
Kioko slowly closed the door and started walking slowly.
"Kioko!" a girl wearing the same uniform ran to Kioko.
"What is it?" Kioko said very flatly.
"Why don't you ever be what your name means." The other girl asked in a very stubborn voice.
"What does it mean, Miyoko?" Kioko said while raising an eyebrow.
"Meets the world with happiness." Miyoko said while pointing at her friend.
"Oh, well then call me by my last name, Hatashi." Kioko said while shrugging her shoulders.
"No! I am your friend I will call you by your first name." Miyoko screamed.
"Fine with me." Hatashi said as they both entered school grounds.
"I have to go to class early to help prepare for the party." Miyoko said she ran up her schools steps.
Hatashi walked around the schoolyard looking for a place to sit. She found a bench under a tree and sat there peacefully. She looked at her watch and noticed 15 more minutes till school starts. Kioko took out a sketchbook from her bag and flipped through the book.
5 minutes have passed and she put the book back.
Hatashi slowly stood up took of her hat and walked around the school grounds.
Many kids were talking with their friends.
"Friends... do I really have any?" she grumbled under her breath.
She stood there looking around then a soccer ball rolled close to her. Hatashi saw a couple of boys making one them get the ball.
A boy wearing the standard boy uniform with the stiff collar walked to get the ball. He had a happy face and a pair of nose sitters glasses on the face. His hair was a nice shade of brown and it was cut like every other boy's hair was.
As he walked closer and closer to the ball he ended up tripping on it. He fell towards Kioko knocking the both of them down.
With a loud thud the both of them fell on the ground with the boy's face a couple of inches away from Kioko's. They both had their eyes closed but they both felt each other's breath. Both of them opened their eyes at the same time.
The boy jumped up and noticed that his friends in the back were cheering.
"Wow Rei I didn't know that you were a ladies' man!" One of his friends screamed and all of his friends started to laugh.
Rei put out a hand to help Hatashi stand up. She refused and stood up by herself.
The boy bowed and apologized then he grabbed the ball and ran to his friends.
Miyoko tapped her shoulder, which gave Hatashi a chill down her back.
"So Kioko I think you like him, you are blushing." Miyoko said while pointing at Kioko's face.
Kioko quickly turned away from her friend and mumbled under her breath.
"Why would I like that freak?" Kioko turned around and her face turned to its normal boring self.
A loud ring came from the bell.
"Well we better go unless we want to get into trouble." Miyoko said as she entered the school with Kioko following her.
*In a classroom*
The teacher sitting behind the desk looked around her classroom waiting until everyone got quiet once the room settled down she stood up holding a piece of paper.
"First we are going to rearrange the desks by having boy girl partnership. Then after that we are going to have the valentine's day party." The teacher said with a smile then she put the paper down on her desk.
The teacher pulled out a hat that had little pieces of paper in it.
"You are going to pull out a piece of paper and that's who you have to sit next to." The teacher said with a smile. "And the girls get to pick." At that moment all the girls put their hand in the hat and pulled out a piece of paper. There was a lot of screaming and blushing and sighs.
When Hatashi put her hand in the hat the room went dead silent. "Words spreads fast I take it." She thought to herself. She pulls out a piece of paper and reads the name to herself then she folds it ups and held it tight in her fist.
She slowly walked to Rei and all the eyes in the classroom followed her.
"Move my desk." She says to Rei in her normal tone. There were a lot of whispers after she said that. Then Hatashi got really close to his face. Rei started to blush. "Now." She whispered then walked away.
Rei just stood there blushing with open eyes.
