Forget Not
Tear stained cheeks
Tailing sorrowed eyes
A price has been paid
Under dark night skies
The masses raise hands
Though thought is lost
Why were they taken?
Why was this the cost?
Where was the innocence
When the last stars fell?
They had such a light
And so many stories to tell
The light in the dark
Seems so far from reach
Forget not the lessons
Their souls have to teach
Remember the life
Hold firm to the love
Rise eyes to the heavens
To the stars above
I wrote this poem in memory of 3 boys at my school who made the horrid decision of driving drunk. Two were to graduate this year with me, but they are now gone forever, the third may never walk again. Please think twice about your actions. Thank you for reading.
