True Self
Everyone sees a different side of me
A lover, a hater, a creator, a destroyer
You'll only see what I want you to see
My 'true self' is too dreadful to be known
To some I'm kind and gentle
To others I'm cruel and uncaring
And some see me as a mixture of both
But then they'll never see my 'true self'
Even if you try to break through
I won't let you see what I am
I'll keep changing so you won't know
And I'll be what I want to be
If by chance you sneak in
You will not like what you see
Full of disgusting darkness
That is my 'true self'

This is my poem for English extra credit project. Unoriginal but it was all I could come up with. It is also my first poem.
