Ocean Waves

By Lythtis

Standing in the sand

Feeling the grains beneath me feet

I watch as wave after wave

Sweep over the flat sand

The waters' edge laps over my feet

As it slowly returns back home

Into the deep blue darkness

Of such a depth I admire

They rise above my head

Such beauty as it sparkles

In the evening sun

I watch as the drag back sand

Sweep them over the ocean

To a different place

Away from here

It stretches forever

Releasing it rage and anger

Somehow my soul travels with you

Follows you

For now I am not part of my body

But outside of its painful limits

To see beyond my normal causes

To know beyond the absent knowledge

I see a shape that isn't part of the cliff

Moving in silence as it rests

Ocean waves and your soft hands of death

A child sleeping on a board among the rocks

You pull it out of its hiding place gently

Before anyone can stop you

The child is taken to your resting place

Ocean waves, how could you?

Your elegance and grace

It's fatal to know just what we see

And forget your coldness that is as deep as dead

The people run, shout past me

I watch them run by

Suddenly my spirit feels cold, numb and my legs go limp

As I turn to try and walk away

I have one last glimpse of the child

And now I see

Your new child of the ocean

The child you took within you now

The sleeping child on the board

Ocean waves

Is me

(=_=) Author's note: It's too short. I am know where near water let alone a beach, hah that's germany for you people. But I still love it. I'm not going near water anyways. Ever since I touched a jellyfish, got pinched by a crab, nearly stepped on a turtle and glided over a sting ray. I think you can see my little 'water nature' problem.whatever r/r I guess.
