To be safe, I ran to County Market, down the road and bought a second was also positive. Looking at the clock I figured I had time to pull myself together. No meetings tonight so he'd be home by 5:00.

I decided to give the test to him as a late birthday present. I can't keep a secret, so he'll be totally floored. As I put it in a plastic bag and wrapped it with yellow tissue paper, I attempted to collect my feelings.

"Obviously, it's in God's plan, so I must be able to handle it. But give me strength, Lord."

The phone rang, interrupting my prayer. Looking at caller I.D., I smiled and sent a quick "Thank You" to Heaven.

"Hey, Kristi."

"What's up?"

"Just wanted to call and see if we're still on for tomorrow's Weight Watcher's meeting."

"Well, I don't think I'll be able to go anymore..." I hesitated.

"Oh? Is it the money, cuz we don't have to go to the meetings."

"Nope, not the money." I closed my eyes and let out a deep breath. "They don't exactly suggest pregnant women lose weight."

"What!?! Pregnant!?! When!?!"
"Well, some time last month, but I found out today."
"Have you told Dean? What does he think?"

"I haven't told him, yet. I'm waiting till he comes home from work." I took a deep breath and let it out in a loud sigh. "I'm scared."
"Why, sweetie?"
"Cuz, it's totally unexpected. I don't know if I can do it."

"I'll pray."

"It'll be okay...Well, Zach wants a drink, so I'd better go. Just wanted to touch base."

"K. I'll call you later."
"Thanks." I smiled weakly as I pushed the talk button. "Thanks." I whispered and looked down at the test. "A baby..."
The phone rang, startling me out of my reverie. I smiled as I saw who was calling.

"Hey, babe."
"Hey, how was your day?"
"Good, good. What about yours?"
"Okay, just busy."

"I'm sorry."
"Don't worry about it...hey, just calling to tell you I'm on my way."
"K. See you in a few."
"Love you."

"Love you, too."
I pushed the talk button and looked down ant the phone.

"Well, here goes."
