How she'd wanted this, here in the darkness… She didn't turn the lights on, she never turned the lights on. She was putting her makeup on without the aid of a mirror, her hands moving almost a separate entity of her body. Eye-liner accenting the shape of her eyes, midnight blue eye shadow bringing out their colour; lighter lipstick over already lush lips. Exactly the way he liked it. Done with the flawless efficiency of a thousands practices. Then came a tight black dress, one he told her to wear, silky material molded to every curve on her body, showing off the long slim legs of a model. Finally, she ran a brush through thick dark gold hair, falling past her shoulders. Perfect for him, always for him. Mocking laughter echoed in her mind. She'd wanted this, burned for this, hated this.

Expression as impassive as always she walked down the hall, her thoughts and her eyes didn't communicate any longer, she thought of nothing her eyes saw as she went to him. A disenchanted lullaby haunted her mind, the perfect melody to her decaying life. Still she wanted it, craved it, dreaded it, lived for it.

He watched her through a shattered mirror. Existence, he was everything to her, eyes once warm were now frozen, guided her down a twisted path. From somewhere under the shadows and fragments of her mind a protest formed, a silent cry hidden in dark depths. And she wanted it all even then, moving to him, for him, acts performed now without shame, stripped of any pride. Pain coming from what had once been rapture, ecstasy and still she wanted it all.

Lazy and sated, he lounged dark eyes still watching her, those same eyes that haunted her. Something in her knew there was something more, something else he would give, something else he would take. Catching sight of herself in the mirror she glanced away, there was nothing in that reflection, it was translucent, as if she were dead already. His arms closed around her, and at some point he'd dragged the silk sheet over them. She saw more than felt him bring his mouth to her neck, maybe she responded with pleasure when his teeth sank into her flesh, a fatal kiss, as her mind seemed yet further away, her soul fading away.

Dreams, she rarely slept without them, and that night she slept next to him. She didn't move even in sleep, her body tense as one in pain. No matter how hard she fought she couldn't find her way to consciousness, her body and mind locked in perpetual torment. Shadows and agony muting her screams. Through it all, she wanted it… Even still she wanted it.

His mouth moved against her neck once more, he whispered words she could no longer hear, offered one last kiss. Her blood poured into him, she fragmented even more, her mind and body different things, a caressing melody in her mind. Her heart was slowing, and she was fading, so far from the one she adored. Somehow she was ever farther away, he was taking it all, giving her something more than death. She had to face the lies now, lies she had lived for. She knew one day there would be a price to pay. Since she met him she'd been fading, becoming so far removed from herself, and it was what she'd pay… now as she faded away.

You wanted this

so sad to see

the sweet decay

of ecstasy

and you want it all

and you want it all

a frozen sun

will guide you there

as shadows hide

the deep despair

and you want it all

and you want it all

I'll give you something more

and you'll fade away

one last kiss before

you fade away

so sleep tonight

in idle dreams

the pain will drown

your silent screams

and you want it all

and you want it all

I'll give you something more

and you'll fade away

one last kiss before

you fade away

lives you once adored

will fade away

lies you can't ignore

you'll soon repay

as you fade away

as you fade away

as you fade away

as you fade away

and you'll fade away
