And One

Winter flakes glide down from the evenings twilight
Gently coating the hard ground with a warm blanket
Mountains and hills of white winter wonder for all to see
But is it too much to ask of you to be happy, just for once?
Slowly walking alone from my work without a friend in the world
Wishing that I had somewhere to go or to
Desiring to be loved and love in return
Something so simple, but so oft denied to me
All alone in this world with a winter's wonder
White flakes slowly warm my freezing cheeks
And the tears I have shed slowly vanish
And I am at last where I belong
All alone
And one
