Agape

Agape
is the sacrifice of the crusader
clad in cheap plastic and black felt
who casts away his sanctity
to cleanse the world of its scum
to wipe the dirt and grit off this plane
for the cause of the wielder
in the hands of the punished student
lies the whiteboard eraser.

Latin. Agape is religious love, often sacrificial in nature.

Proem-- It's not a typo! My friend came up with this. It's a blend of poetry and prose, hence "proem"! Notice that the sentences are rather complete and roll off each other, almost like prose. It veers away from orthodox poetry, I guess, if there's such a concept, with more words to put forth the meaning as usual. But I like it this way! Hope you like it as well!

Drop a review! Talk to me.. about the proem, about proems in general, about anything!
