I have a body, I have skin,
I have friends, I have kin,
I'm here, but I'm really not,
I feel real but I'm fake.

I can be touched, I can be felt,
I have bruises, I have welts,
But despite all the evidence,
I'm not real.

Appearance is superficial,
Skin and flesh are artificial,
What you see isn't what you get,
Things seem real but never are.

All the feelings, all the thoughts,
All the battles and wars hard fought,
Bodies collide, blood flows,
Through it all it's just a joke.

We seem to believe in the lies,
But I know the truth deep inside,
I'm just another look-alike,
In a world of fakes.
