If Only We Weren't Enemies | by Lastlegolife | Chapter 8: Peace

Guy kissed Melina's neck.

The couple managed to end up on the couch together. Guy stripped her out of her clothes and tasted her. Melina moaned and enjoyed it. He came up to her face and kissed her.

"Mmm?" she hummed.

"This could be our last time together or at least for a long time." Guy told her.

Melina looked away. "Yes."

She looked back.

"But they can't keep us apart forever." Melina said. She touched the side of his face with her hand softly, ran a finger across his lips and looked into his eyes. "I love you, Guy Davidson. No matter what they do, I'll always be yours."

Guy smiled. "You are right. You are my life and without you, I cannot live. I've never loved someone as much as I do you. I'll always be with you, Melina Bocker."

Their lips met in a passionate kiss. Guy kissed and sucked on her neck, not caring if he left hickeys. Melina moaned as he suckled her breasts and squeezed them. He put himself inside her and they moved together slowly. Melina held into him and moaned softly.

"Mmm....mmm.....hmmhm....ooo...yes..mmm." Melina hummed with each stroke.

Guy licked and probed her neck with his tongue.

"Mmm....right there.....mmmm...yes....ooo...mmm." Melina gripped onto his back.

Guy made his thrusts quicker and harder.

Melina moaned louder. "Mmmm....m..more...mmm..more...oooo...."

Guy lengthened his strides but did not ease up on force.

"Melina....mmm....baby...." Guy whispered. "Do it love...mmm"

His wife threw her head back and loud out her loudest moan yet. The tension grew and Melina's wall closed around his manhood.

Guy quickened his pace. "MmmmmMMm."

Melina's orgasm had ended, but she was already working on a new one. Her love dug deep into her, pressing his sword in all the way to its hilt. Melina's body shook with excitement. Guy's moans became more frequent. He whispered sweet things in his wife's ear. Soon, he exploded his entire load, into her unprotected body. It triggered an orgasm for Melina and they came together.

Both of them rested, breathing hard. Guy rose off of Melina and sat behind her. Melina leaned back and laid on him.

They held hands, recalling what just happened.

"You know what this means, right?" Guy said.

Melina stared off into space. "I know. Do you think that we can handle it? I mean, did we do the right thing?"

Guy brushed her hair lightly. "Of course we can. We can handle anything. And we did do the right thing."

"Yeah, I guess you are right. It's not like we'll go poor taking care of a baby." Melina touched her stomach and looked up at him. "Besides, you'll make a wonderful dad."

Guy kissed her forehead. "And, you, a wonderful mom."

They heard a car pull up outside. Guy got up to check it out.

"It's Josh."

Melina got up and rushed to put her clothes back on. Guy slipped on his pants and shirt and fixed his hair.

He opened the door and stepped out. "Be back."

Guy went to the front and opened the door. Josh came in.

"Hey man." They did their special handshake.

"'Sup," Josh took off his sunglasses.

"What's going on?"

Melina came out of the office and descended the staircase.

"Word of you two going together is the biggest thing since the presidential sex scandal. They replay the tape every five minutes." Josh said. "You're dad canceled his speech at the convention opening."

Guy sighed and ran his hand through his hair.

Melina stood next to Guy. "What about my parents?"

"They haven't said anything. The press wants answers though. Some tried to talk to Tawny but she's keeping everything quiet. Right now, I think they are trying to figure out where you guys are."

Melina paused. "What should we do? We can't hide here forever."

"Josh, can you gather our parents for a private meeting at the office?" Guy asked.

Josh nodded. "Sure, man. No problem."

"Thanks." Guy turned to Melina. "We are going to talk to our parents face to face. If they disagree with our decision, then we'll leave and continue our lives without their blessing."

Melina nodded. "Okay."

Josh left to get the worried parents. Melina and Guy went back up to the office. They counted the money they had saved. There was about $347,065 in the safe. That didn't include the funds from the club. That was more than enough to start their lives. Guy's 18th birthday would be coming up soon. When it did, he would start investing some of the money in stocks.

Josh called the Davidsons on his way to the Bocker residence. He told them about the secret meeting and they agreed. He figured it would be best to pick up Tawny too. If she was with him, the Bocker's would have to let him in. Being an associate of the Davidsons, he would never get passed the front gates.

Josh drove up to the gates slowly, avoiding running over the news people. They immediately ran to his window asking questions. Tawny poked her head outside the window and signaled the guards at the gates to open up.

The phoned the house and received authorization. They let the car through and shut it before the swarm of people could slip by.

Josh went around the long curving driveway and stopped in front of the house. They both got out of the car and headed up the steps. Men in suits and ray bands stopped them at the door.

"Ms. Maxwell, I am afraid your friend is not permitted to enter. He has an alliance with the Davidsons. He is a threat to this family."

"I have information on the whereabouts of the missing Bocker, Melina. You know? Your boss's lost daughter?" Josh folded his arms. "It'd be a shame if she never returned and then you'd be held responsible."

The guards moved out the way.

Josh smiled. "Thank you."

Tawny smiled. She loved it when he did that. The two went inside the large mansion. The foyer was beautiful. There were two large staircases leading up to the left and right. Between them was a painted portrait of the Bocker family. In front of the staircase was a large table with a large bouquet of real flowers it.

Josh took his sunglasses off and looked around, slightly impressed. "Nice place."

William and Fe'lon Bocker appeared out of a side hall.

"Why hello Mr. and Mrs. Bocker." He said.

"Good afternoon." William wanted to get straight down to business. "Where is Melina?"

"Yes, but first, let us all sit and get cozy." Josh said, nonchalantly.

They all moved into the living room and sat down. The waiters served them tea.

"Now, about Melina." William said. "Where is she?"

Josh sipped his tea. "With Guy Davidson, of course."

"And where is Guy?" Fe'lon asked.

"I'm not sure at the moment but he should be on his way back here."

"What do you mean, 'back here'?"

"They had to get away from you." Tawny said.

"What for?!" Fe'lon's brow creased.

"What do you expect them to do? Go to each other's house? Watch a movie together in public? This very incident was what they were trying to avoid. They knew if their relationship was exposed by the public's eye, you would object and forbid Melina to see Guy."

"Damn straight." William said. "She is grounded for life the minute she gets home. There will be no more sneaking out to see boys."

Josh and Tawny just smiled. The baffled parents looked from face to face.

"You might want to hold off on that till after you hear what she has to say." Josh said. "Guy and Melina are going to hold a private meeting between the Bocker and Davidson families at the Davidson HQ."

"I will not set foot in that rusty old building!" Fe'lon said.

"You will if you want your daughter back." Josh said.

They were silent.

"Come as soon as possible. They are awaiting your arrival." Josh stood and put on his sunglasses. "It's been fun folks. Thank you for your hospitality."

Tawny stood and followed him out the door.

"Tawny." Fe'lon called. Tawny stopped. "You knew about this, didn't you?"

"Melina is my best friend. I think this is the best thing for her." Tawny turned and left.

News reporters hopped into their vans and followed the Bockers to the Davidson Headquarters. The Bockers gave no comment to them when they got out of the car and headed up the steps. The guards kept the press outside and let only them through the front doors. Fe'lon would have turned her nose up at any other time but this was important. She had a bad feeling. She didn't know what it meant but it wasn't good.

A man in uniform led them into the elevator. The ride wasn't too long. The halls were a plain white with rainbow colored boarders and matching carpet. Price-less paintings hung on each wall. The man opened the double doors and let the Bockers through.

The room was large. A huge oval shaped table big enough to seat thirty people was in the center. On the left wall were four massive windows. Potted plants were in every corner and a large overhead projector screen was at the front.

Sitting in the chairs at the far end was the outraged Davidson family, minus one disobedient son. They did not stand when their enemies entered. The Bocker's jaws stiffened as they approached them.

"Sit." Michael said.

"We aren't planning on staying that long. We have come to take our daughter and go home." William said.

"Fine. Make sure she stays away from our son."

"Ditto." William shot back. "Keep your lying, cheating, snot of a son away from our daughter."

Both Davidsons stood.

The double-doors opened.

Melina and Guy walked in together, hand in hand. Their parents stopped arguing and looked up at their lost children as the doors shut behind them. They walked around the table to their parents.

Fe'lon embraced her offspring gently. "Oh my precious. I was so worried about you."

Melina just smiled.

"Did he hurt you? I'll kick his little ass if he touched you." Fe'lon said to her daughter.

"No mom."

Melina looked back. Michael and Mellessa were scolding Guy.

"No, dad! Hear us out, okay?" Guy said.

Fe'lon took Melina's hand. "Come on. It's time to go."

Melina pulled away from her. "No. We called this meeting to talk and that's what we are going to do."

Fe'lon wanted to protest but remembered the diary.

"No we are not, young lady. We are leaving." William said.

Fe'lon touched his arm and looked him. Her eyes said it all. William sighed and sat down. Fe'lon and Melina did the same.

"Mom, Dad, please?!" Guy said to his parents.

Both were silent.

Michael sighed and sat down. "Make it quick."

Mellessa sat down next to her husband reluctantly. Guy smiled slightly and sat down too.

"First of all, we know that you don't like the idea of us dating." Guy started.

"Or sneaking off." William glanced at his daughter.

"Or lying." Mellessa threw in.

"But we did all those things because we love each other. If we walk around holding hands, the press would get all in an uproar and we'd all get this unwanted publicity, like now."

"But you weren't caught holding hands, you were caught........"getting it on" in the storage room.....of the theater, of all places!" Michael said.

"We didn't "get anything on". It was just a kiss." Melina said.

Fe'lon saw Melina's spotted neck. "And not the last, it seems."

"When Guy and I first met, I blew him off. I hated him just like a Bocker was "supposed" to do. I figured the flowers and all the gifts I got were just some cheap attempt to get me to go out with him. But after a while, I could just tell, that he really meant what he said. So I figure I could give it try." Melina explained.

"I thought I could win Melina over easily. But after she turned me down a couple of times, I was considering on giving up." Guy looked at the table deep in thought. "But then, I couldn't get her out of my mind. I kept thinking about her and every time I saw her, I couldn't take my eyes off of her. So I stopped treating her like a prize and like the person I love. And it's been that way ever since."

"Just because you are all fighting doesn't mean that we have to walk down the same path. I rather be with Guy than against him."

"That doesn't explain why you ran off." Fe'lon said.

"If we hadn't, we would have gotten scolded, grounded, and who knows what else. We wouldn't have had the chance to explain ourselves." Melina looked at her mother.

"Even by some sheer chance that you were able to have our blessings, how would you be able to avoid the over-exceeding publicity?" William asked.

"That's where you came in." Guy said.

"If both families became friends before we exposed our relationships, the blow wouldn't be as hard as it is now." Melina explained.

All four parents gasped.

"Hmph." Mellessa and Fe'lon said in unison.

"What about the storage room?" Michael said.

"Well, we hadn't seen each other in days, except for school, and it seemed like the best opportunity." Guy said.

Mellessa rolled her eyes.

There was a silence.

"I know you think it's just a teenage thing but I swear to you that it is more than that. I love Guy and he loves me." Melina said. "Our only obstacle was telling all of you."

"And whether or not we permit you to date." Michael said.

"Actually, no." Guy said.

The four parents looked at him like he had just cursed.

"We got married a few months ago." Guy said. Everyone's face changed to the same expression.

William and Fe'lon looked at Melina.

"You married him?!" Fe'lon shrieked.

Melina held up her hand and nodded. "We have the marriage certificate to prove it."

Fe'lon turned her head the other way and put a hand to her mouth.

"You can't be married! You aren't even old enough!" Michael shouted.

"Yes we are. We are the legal minimal age limit for a city two towns over." Guy said.

"You mean we are in-laws to those Bockers?!" Mellessa pointed at William and Fe'lon.

"So even if you keep us apart, at eighteen, we will still be together." Melina said.

"Looks like you have this all worked out." William said in that scary tone of voice Melina knew so well.

His daughter looked at him with troubled eyes. William stared right back. He could say yes or he could say no. And most of the time when he talked like this, it was no. But sometimes he surprised her and said yes.

"I have raised my daughter and taught her, what I thought, was right and what was wrong. She's always been headstrong and had great instincts...." William's voice trailed off. "But I can't allow you to have what you want."

Melina's eyes grew wide. She took her father's hand. "Please Daddy, please! I love him! Don't keep me away from him! Please dad, reconsider."

"Mr. Bocker, I promise to take good care of your daughter. I love her with all my heart. I am willing to abandon all my money and everything I own for her. Please don't keep us apart." Guy said.

"Give up your money?" Mellessa cried. "Is she so special, that you would throw away your fortune and the company to stay with her?"

Guy looked at his mother. "Yes. I don't care about inheriting the family business. All I care about is Melina. I love her."

"Dad please, change your mind. He wouldn't go through all of this if he didn't really love me. Please let me stay with him." Melina cried.

"I can't make that decision on my own. You aren't only my child, Melina. I share you with another, you know?" William said.

Melina looked at her mother who still had her face turned away.

"Mom?" Melina said. "Can Guy and I still see each other?"

Fe'lon turned her head back to them. Her face was in tears. She sobbed once and nodded.

"Yes." She shut her eyes and placed a hand on her chest. "I have no objections. I just really wish I got to see my only child get married."

Melina got up and went over to her mother. They hugged.

"My little baby is all grown up." Fe'lon sobbed.

Guy turned to his parents. "May I please stay with Melina?"

Michael sighed. "It's fine with me as long as you don't abandon the family business."

He turned to his wife.

Mellessa had her arms folded and her legs crossed.

She huffed and looked away. "I better get plenty of beautiful grandchildren then."

The Bockers and Michael laughed. Melina and Guy smiled with joy. They jumped up and ran into each other's arms. They kissed and hugged again.

"No one knows what went on in the Dave Inc. building." The report said. The picture flicked recording of Guy and Melina getting in a red Mercedes and driving away, ignoring the press completely. "The two future executives went in and came out holding hands. Their parents, Michael and Mellessa Davidson and William and Fe'lon Bocker left the building just one hour ago with little words to say."

The picture changed top show Michael Davidson getting into his limo. "The only thing I will say is that the family feud between the Bocker family and the Davidson family is finally over."

"What caused this sudden change of heart?" The reporter said. "We'll let you know when we find out."

Melina and Guy Davidson graduated from high school the next year. They bought a piece of land, not too far away from their successful nightclub, and built their home. Melina gave birth to a baby boy two weeks after it was finished.

Soon, the feud between the Bocker and Davidson family had been forgotten. Melina and Guy went to college and studied business and accounting. Melina took another class in journalism and wrote a book about her life as a girl brought up to hate those she had not even met. The book sold millions of copies. Melina became inspired and took up a hobby of writing books on philosophy and drama.

Guy worked with his father on a regular basis at Dave Inc. He became an honest businessman when Michael and Mellessa decided to retire early six years after the feud ended. Melina gained ownership of her family company a few months later. She gave birth to a set of twins after that which made the family all the more happier.

Guy was proud and he was always there for his wife and children. He took care and loved them with all his heart.

Melina developed a brain tumor 19 years later. She fell ill and died later at the age of 42. Guy grieved for a long time after. He stopped going to work and spent hours staring out the window in his room, surrounded by pictures of Melina smiling. They were the only thing that kept him sane. His three children became worried when he refused to eat. The youngest found him one evening slumped over in a chair clutching a photo of his late wife. He was 43.

"Hi, I'm Guy Davidson."

"Davidson? As in Dave Incorporated Davidson?"

"Yeah, I'm the owners son."

"Get lost."

"I am not allowed to associate with a Davidson."

"Wait, are you William Bocker's daughter?"

"Oh, are you sure you aren't allowed to talk to me?"

"Yep. Pretty sure."
