Twisted Staircase


There was no door to close, just your sudden arrival. Here. Alone. The stairs beneath you are deceiving: steady to the eye, hazardous to the step. You may descend slowly, or one misstep could bring you crashing to the bottom in a hurry. The light before you fades, and you have nothing to look towards. Up, down, left, right: all are foreign in this darkness. There is only the knowledge that one day you will arrive at the bottom. And unlike other bottoms, there are two ways to go from here. And if you fall from the last step, you will not rise again.
