Red Profound

The angel that she saw

Bloodied and broken

With a tear in his eye

Uttering words not spoken

Pearl wings spread

Wilted and profound

Longing to rise

But to the dust bound

He entered her mind

Hearing screams and pain

Her world filled with color

Washed black in the rain

She cradled him

Her small arms strong

He sang and wept

Scarlet tears to his song

Feathers melted

Bathing her in fear

She held him closer

Needing to feel him near

The stars burned out

As she screamed her soul raw

Holding the light that was
