I very, very rarely write poetry - in fact, this is the first serious piece of I've ever written. Thoughts are much appreciated!

Hope you enjoy, Ki

Memoriam

I walk with ghosts in the sullen night

Fluorescent, they drip between my hands

And fill the edges of my eyes

Like saltwater stings and the end of days.

I walk with ghosts in the seeping twilight

Turning tomorrow to yesterday

Tumbling before me like

Leaves kicked carelessly,

I am the crypt where they keep their bones

I walk with ghosts in the evening's thrust

They coat my skin with golden whispers

And drag down my grieving feet

Silence of futures

Unspoken

Broken

Listening to heartbeats stronger than mine

I walk with ghosts

In the hazing morning

And cannot tell which of us

Is alive
