One more step

And I shall fall.

I cannot hear you

Anymore.

I'm walking senseless,

Deaf and dumb

Blind to all from

My stricken tongue.

This deathly silence

And freezing hell,

It's claimed my mind

And soul as well.

Those friendly faces

Torn away.

I'm living for

Some other day.

It all ends

Upon my move,

I pray to find my

Torment soothed.

So casting myself

Upon the wind,

An endless chasm

To purge my sins.

And cry I to

The birds who

Fly:

'Lend me your wings,

Or I shall die…'

A ripple; blemish of the sea,

A mark; a stain that taints,

Called me.

Then let my blood run stiff and cold

For my self is stretched,

Now taut and old.

Little matters

Like it could

And all stand ignorant

Of a truth

A truth to free

The cagéd mind…

An empty shell

Stands, left behind.
