I have so much

Yet possess so little

But maybe I have more than I think I possess

Then again maybe I possess less than I think I have

In the light I feel vulnerable

So too, in the darkness

In the shadows I feel protected

Alert, wary of danger

But protected the nonetheless

The word safe can never be

And those who feel safe must be ignorant

For nothing in this world is certain

(And certainty is a part of safety)

Therefore what I have I can never surely possess

And what I possess I can never certainly have
