A Diary account of a date with Marron
Dear diary, man have I got a lot to tell you about today. Marron agreed to go out with me tonight! I knew it was my day when I woke up. I didn't feel nervous or anything, asking her out to a romantic candlelight dinner in one of the most expensive restraunts in West City. Believe me, I've been working extremely hard for today. I even bribed...um asked Master Roshi for the use of his car.
"Look Master Roshi. I got you a ticket to the hottest topless show in town."
"Krillin. Let me think about it for a moment. Okay, I've thought about it. Here are the keys."
Like I said, bribing...uh ASKING Master Roshi wasn't too difficult. Get him thinking about naked women and he'll do almost anything you ask. Well after I got the car secured, I began to worry about my appearance. I wanted to look just right for Marro so I went through my suits for the perfect one. I was going to go with white but white stains and I didn't want my evening with Marron to become a disaster.
I got to her place at seven-thirty and my reservations were for eight. We left at a quarter 'til because she couldn't decide on the perfect shade of lipstick...
"Should I wear the Strawberry Wine or Lover's Inferno?"
"They both look good on you, Marron. Hurry up or we're going to be late."
"In a second Krillin. I have to look good in a five-star restraunt, don't I?"
"Why don't you wear that one?"
"Morrocan Mocha? Hmm. It won't clash with anything I'm already wearing...Yes, that's what I'll wear. I'm so glad I thought of it."
"Great. Now come on. If we're late, we'll lose our spot."
"Oh we'll make it in time. I trust you Krillin. Oh look there's John. Hi John!"
"Marron, I want this to be enjoyable for both of us. Please don't say hello to all your boyfriends."
"Oh Krillin you're so funny! You can't possibly mean that."
"Oh I almost forgot. I got this for you."
"Roses! Thank you! Why they're just as pretty as the ones Taro got me."
We got to the restraunt on time and I led her to our table. She was still talking about her previous boyfriends when we sat down. Thankfully the arrival of a waiter quieted her for awhile and I tried to think of how to deviate the conversation from her boyfriends.
"Some saki please. What do you think of the view, Marron?"
"It's like we're so very high up."
"That's because we're on the eigth floor. So, have you decided on what you'd like to eat?"
"There's Jett. I didn't know he worked here. Hello Jett!"
I wish she knew just how annoying she gets when she talks about her boyfriends. It's like I'm being compared to them. I don't like that.
"Well I'm back. What were you saying Krillin?"
"You sound upset."
"I'm not upset."
"Poor Krillin. Are you jealous of my boyfriends?"
"Well maybe I am a little bit..."
"I don't know why you're jealous. I'm right here with you now. You're the most important one tonight."
"Of course, silly."
"Then stop pointing out all your other boyfriends."
"All right. This is funny. Duck under glass. How do you eat it if it's under glass?"
"I don't know. So, what do you want?"
"There's so many things to choose from. I think I'll just have a salad."
"Okay. Are you sure? You can have whatever you want."
"I know but I just take a salad."
"All right. Sure is nice here. You can see the stars."
"Yeah. It is really pretty out here. I'm glad I decided to cancel my other engagement."
"You mean...you had another date?"
"Well, I had forgotten about yours. But it's okay because I'm here and not there. You don't have anything to worry about, Krillin."
"Yeah, I guess you're right. Hey, would you like to go dancing after we eat?"
"Okay. That sounds like fun. You know Krillin, you really are sweet."
We ate our dinner quietly. I was too busy thinking about her to say anything. She looked beautiful in her lavender evening gown and for once, she wasn't talking about her boyfriends. It was just me and her and nothing else. Aside from our meals I mean...
"You look funny, Krillin."
"No. I was just thinking about how pretty you look."
"You're really sweet Krillin."
Well, I got a nice long kiss for that compliment and it was then that I forgot all the things that I was upset with. The evening went more to my favor after that. We went dancing and then I took her to a more...secluded area. Or as secluded as it can get with wild animals I suppose.
"Well this whole evening has been wonderful but..."
"Do you think you can take me home?"
"Sure Marron. If that's what you want."
And so, I took her home, dear diary. I don't know what exactly happened although I have the suspicion that it had something to do with herboyfriends. I walked her up to her porch where she once again gave me an extremely long kiss.
"Goodnight Krillin. I'm sorry I had to cut the evening short. I just remembered something I had forgotten."
"It's all right. I'm glad you had fun tonight. Um...I guess I'll see you later?"
"Of course. Thank you Krillin. It was fun."
And so, dear diary, that was my evening with Marron. It could have gone a lot better, but it could have gone a lot worse too. I know things didn't go the way I had planned, but I wasn't complaining. Once she stopped pointing out or talking about all her boyfriends, things went my way. Plus, she wanted to see me again so I guess things turned out okay. My day today was interesting and I think Marron likes me a little more.
I guess I'll just have to wait and see what tomorrow brings before I get my hopes up. But who knows? Maybe I'll get lucky this time.
