This is it! This is the big ending! Hope you like it I'm gonns miss writing this story. Oh well I can always write a sequel. Please review and tell me what you think I really need to know ^_^

Mikey's fear began to overwhelm him as he felt the cold syringe pressed against his neck.

"Get up." Tim told Tanya who slowly joined the others near the door. "One wrong move and this poison will be flowing through little Mikey's system, and then he'll be dead in less then a week."

Mikey tried to say something but when he opened his mouth all that came from his lips was a little whimper. He quickly slapped his hands roughly over his mouth to stop it but nothing could stop the shaking. Through his terror he could hear Tim's cold laugh.

"You're even more pathetic then you were when you were fully human, I guess the fact that you have the power to kill me but can't use it under our agreement bothers you." Mikey laughed at that, he couldn't help it.

"If you believe that then you know nothing about me or how I think. If you must know I was feeling sorry for you, you too denied your fate once but found no point in living a lie. You gave up like I might have if I didn't have my family, but the good thing about having two different halves of your soul is that you can always change. Even you can if you wished, it is what Adam wishes to tell you to do but he has not found the courage to face you yet." For just a moment Tim stiffened and Mikey for the first time heard the cry of his soul. It was in agony with hatred at itself and the two worlds who had felt the emotions he had created himself from.

But just as soon as Mikey had heard the cry it was once again hidden beneath Tim's coldness. The outburst gave Mikey a new kind of hope despite the situation.

"I see your plan now little Mikey." Tim said coldly, "Unlike your soul which was filled from the world's good emotions mine was born from evil. Although if I had gotten my own way from the beginning you'd be just like me.

"You see Mikey the ghost council did not begin to create you, they don't have the brain to do such a thing I did. You would have been magnificent, a true killing machine unable to resist your fate. But you were taking a lot longer to come into being and I decided to hide you until I returned to finish you off. But of course the ghost council found you before I could return from the living world. They filled you with more pleasant emotions but still couldn't get rid of the murdering instinct I'd built especially for you. In the end it worked more to their advantage, they did program your mind to kill, but just me.

"They sent you to the living world knowing that you'd find me with your soul being so similar to my own. They didn't know we would create another soul which we wished to be. They fixed it so we would learn of our real fate; I acted as they wanted me to by giving in. But Saint Mikey decided to choose his own fate and deny his purpose of existence.

"That's why, as you guessed, when you became a lost spirit they began to remove the part of the soul you had created for yourself. They were hoping that if there was more of your true soul you would have no choice but to give in. No-one could have predicted you would have been foolish enough to deny what you were for so long. But then again I suppose you just wanted to live, after all they were going to just erase you from existence whether you gave in or not."

"What!" Sandra burst out; Tim smiled sweetly at her anger.

"You must have realised what would happen if Mikey actually gave in and killed me. His soul is, after all, more pure than anyone else's, just the very thought of killing scares him to death. If he does not succeed in turning the world into a better he could never stand the pain around him, they would have to erase him. Anyway the ghost council will erase him soon if he remains the way he is, he is dead either way." Tim laughed, "I guess he will finally find his peace.

"This is, of course unless you join me. We can be great together, I know how you work I can easily re-programme your soul to the way it was meant to be, join me, your real father who brought you into these worlds. Give in and let me finish what I started so long ago."

His words made sense, yet Mikey could only have one answer, the answer that would make sure he was erased and forgotten. A tear fell down Mikey's cheek as he stared at his family and gave his answer.

"I'd rather be erased." No sooner had the words left his mouth did the needle plunge further into Mikey's neck, as soon as the poison had begun to enter his veins Mikey felt instantly weakened.

"Then you have chosen your own destruction, fool." Tim said calmly.

"To give in would have been in my destruction." Mikey told him simply.

***

Tanya's heart was slowly breaking as she watched Tim slowly devouring Mikey's hope. Tears blurred her vision as she heard Tim's cold words.

"It is time to leave." He now had a knife held to Mikey's throat making it impossible for Mikey to turn his head and look at his family one last time.

"You will not get away with this." George cried out. "What happened to the brother I once knew?"

"He doesn't exist!" Tim screamed and before anyone had noticed Tim had thrown the knife through the air towards George only to be stopped by Mikey's barrier. Tanya wondered whether Mikey had just reacted or whether he had expected Tim to throw it.

"You break the rules and I will too." Mikey said firmly, Tim immediately pulled out another knife and held it to Mikey's throat once again.

"Fine, we are leaving now, I hope you all have a nice life." With that Tim began to disappear but not before he looked straight at Tanya and said, "You are coming too."

"No!" Mikey cried but it was already too late for him to do anything. A moment later Tanya found herself in the portal barely able to breathe.

***

When Mikey slowly woke he was tied to a chair in a different basement but one that was very similar to the other which he had spent two terrifying years in. The basement was clean and bigger with an old bathtub in the corner. Tanya also tied up a metre away from Mikey. She was till asleep which Mikey knew was a side effect from the portal.

Suddenly the door banged open and Tim walked in with a happy grin on his face. He carried a black suitcase which when he opened was filled with labelled syringes. Mikey's eyes caught sight of one labelled 'poison cure'. Tim plucked one labelled 'blisters' into his hand and slowly closed his suitcase which only seemed to fill Mikey with more fear and at his confidence.

It felt like Tim took all eternity walking to Mikey's side and slowly inserting the needle into Mikey's already aching neck. He desperately held down a whimper as he felt the substance begin to flow through his system. Tim withdrew the needle so quickly Mikey couldn't help but let out a gasp of pain.

Tim pulled Mikey roughly to his feet and slammed him onto the wall. Tanya began to shout at Tim but Mikey couldn't hear her words properly, his mind was filled with panic as he waited for Tim to begin cutting his flesh with the knife.

Mikey distantly realised Tim was holding up the back of his t-shirt with his powers. Mikey knew he was going to retrace the picture on his back, after all the deeper the scar the more painful it would be. All of sudden, to quick for Mikey to prepare for it, Tim began to cut, deep.

***

Tanya watched helplessly as Mikey's skin was cut into with no possible way of stopping it. She shouted and struggled and even tried begging for Tim to stop but he didn't even acknowledge her existence. Rage began to fill her as she watched Tim pick up a bowl of salt water and slowly pour it down Mikey's back. Not even Mikey could stay silent from the pain it brought. Tim then grabbed Mikey and tied him tightly back onto the chair. He smiled his cold amused smile in Tanya's direction.

"Don't hurt her." Mikey begged through his pain, as Tim looked from her to Mikey Tanya could have sworn for just a second she saw sympathy in his eyes. But then it was gone so quick she realised she must have imagined it.

"Don't worry Mikey." Tim said in a mockingly nice tone. "If you're a good boy I won't lay a finger on her. Oh by the way, do you like it here? It's your father's basement, he'll be too busy looking for you to go home and find you!" He left the room laughing a cold laugh which chilled Tanya to her bones.

"Quickly." Mikey suddenly said and Tanya watched amazed as her restrains began untying themselves leaving her free. She glanced over at Mikey questioningly who just smiled at her, it was then she noticed the portal forming in front of her.

"No." She said firmly shaking her head at Mikey but he only nodded moving the portal nearer to her. "No! Mikey I won't leave you here!" She was crying but she barely noticed, she could only look at Mikey's face and see his determination.

Tim had come back and was heading towards her saying if she went through the portal he'd kill Mikey. Tanya tried to resist Mikey's will which was pushing her forward towards the portal but her own fear was distracting her. Tanya just stared at him helplessly with tears invading her vision as she unwillingly stepped into the portal.

Darkness clouded her and suddenly Tanya opened her eyes to find herself in a hotel room where Sandra, Elena, Edward, George and someone she didn't recognise stood around her looking worried and anxious.

"Tanya, are you alright? Where's Mikey?" Tanya was pulled to her feet and everyone was still asking questions. She waited patiently until they quietened to begin telling them.

"Mikey's being held in George's basement in Ireland, he's been injected with more blisters and had a carving knife in his back." The others were quiet for a while until they noticed Tanya staring questioningly at the new person there.

"I'm Andy, Sandra's soulmate." He told her shaking her hand, Tanya smiled. "The police won't help unless they have ghosts protecting them, so we must reach Ireland before they will help."

"Why don't you just go through the portals?" Tanya asked.

"The ghost council have cut off the connection that we have, it seem they do not want us to reach Mikey in time."

"We can go on a ferry." Tanya suggested desperately, Andy just smiled weakly.

"Tim has forced Mikey to cast a storm," Sandra explained, "All the ferries are being delayed, no one will travel out on the sea when it's like this."

Tanya looked out of the hotel window and saw the storm of the century. The rain was falling so hard and thick Tanya could barely see the distant sea. But what she could see made her wonder whether they were safe at this distance. The waves rose to half the height of the houses, a boat would be ripped apart within a minute of venturing into it.

"There was a boat out when the storm came; they were right in the middle of it. They told everyone the storm seemed to move away from them as they went through it. No one really believed it and they haven't dared to venture out themselves." Despite everything Tanya smiled, Mikey really couldn't let anyone get hurt or let them be in pain. He was too pure and innocent for these two worlds.

"Where's your mother?" Tanya asked suddenly realising she wasn't there. Sandra gave her a weak smile.

"After Mikey was taken she went into shock, she just walked out and we haven't seen her since." Sandra was quiet for a while; Tanya could see the tears in her eyes. "We're not going to make it in time, are we?" Tanya couldn't answer her; she just hugged Sandra desperately wishing with all her heart that Mikey was with them, safe from harm with his family.

***

Mikey's lungs began to fill with water and no air was detectable within them. Mikey struggled to reach the surface of the water but Tim's strong hands held him down at the bottom of the rusty tub. His vision was invaded with darkness and suddenly he could no longer feel the burning in his lungs.

Just as Mikey was about to give in to death he felt the same hands which had been forcing him down lift him out of the water and drop him roughly on the floor. It only took a minute of watery coughs and desperate gasps of breaths for the pain to come back. Mikey half wished Tim hadn't pulled him out as he lay helpless on the cold hard floor.

"Come on Mikey, you have to be tougher than that." He began to retie Mikey back to the chair purposely bursting some of the blisters.

It had been three days since Tanya disappeared through the portal. Any minute now Mikey knew the blisters would begin to burst and he wasn't sure whether he could stand the pain. He was no longer sure whether he could live for much longer.

Keeping up the storm was hard, making sure no one was hurt from it was even more difficult. Tim laughed at the way he was making himself weak from it, making the torture twice as bad. The only thought that kept him alive was the fact that his family were safe and the two worlds would be out of danger for a little while longer.

"What's it like to give in?" Mikey asked trying to ignore the pain as the blisters began to burst. "Where does the other part of your soul go?" Tim was quiet for a while as if he weren't planning to answer but then sadness filled his cold eyes and he began to speak in a voice different from his normal cold tone.

"At first I thought it would be the same, you know, trying to resist the other half of you, but it's not. When you give in to your true side it is like being reborn, you can remember your life before but it feels as if it not apart of you. Each day that other side of you slips further out of reach, you can try to fight for it to stay but it won't make any difference, it's already gone." His eyes were filled with sorrow, all coldness had vanished.

"At first you didn't fight, did you?" Mikey asked weakly. "But now you want it to end, I'm sure if you keep fighting you will win."

"I have already begun the mission I created myself to do; once I had started, it was too late for me to fight for my other soul. As soon as I killed you my soul was lost forever, not even my family can help me now."

"But you haven't killed me yet, I sacrificed myself. You haven't yet done anything you created yourself to do. Adam can help you, he will be ready to face you soon and he can help guide you back to your soul. The soul you want to have." But even as Mikey said these words the coldness in Tim came back and wiped all emotion away within him.

"Less talking Mikey, I'm growing impatient with you." And so the torture continued.

***

Tanya suddenly sat up in bed and cried out Mikey's name, he was in pain, and she knew it. He was hurting thankful they were okay and praying that soon the pain would end.

"Tanya, it's okay." Elena reassured her sitting beside her giving her a hug.

"I can sense his pain." Tanya told her, "He's in so much pain. How do I know that?"

"Soulmates have that kind of connection." Sandra told her, "They can sense what the other is feeling once the bond between you begins to grow. You can't feel what they're feeling but you are just aware they are feeling it."

"Oh god." Tanya whispered, "Will I be able to sense when he is dying?" Sandra nodded. "Hold on Mikey, please hold on."

***

A week had passed since Tim had taken Mikey and already he was too weak to keep up the storm. The poison had begun to attack his system and Mikey was finding it hard to breathe. Tim walked into the room once again showing sadness in his eyes.

"I'm sorry I have to do this." He said holding out his knife, Mikey knew immediately what he was planning to do.

"It was my choice; we have both already decided our paths." It was a whisper, one taking up more energy than Mikey had.

Tim nodded silently, to Mikey's surprise his eyes shone with tears. He bent down next to him and slowly began to make deep cuts in Mikey's flesh, letting his life force drip onto the hard cold floor.

***

"Hold on Mikey!" Tanya shouted, the people around her stared in disgust. The boat was swiftly making its way through the water, but not fast enough. She knew Mikey couldn't hear her but if what Sandra said was true he would be able to sense her determination to save him. Edward put a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "We should have more ghosts to help us. Where's Adam?" She asked Sandra.

"Each ghost has something they don't want to face, Mikey was his true soul, and Adam's is his father. It was hard for him and his mum when his dad suddenly became a different person. When he read the prophecy about the one pure evil he realised what his father was, his true father is trapped somewhere deep in that soul and he dares not face it." Tanya was quiet after that for a while.

"I just hope we make it in time." She whispered. "I have a feeling it's already too late."

***

Mikey could do nothing but sit as his life force continued to trickle from him. Tim was sat and watched with a slight look of sorrow beneath his pleasure.

"I'm sorry I had to do this." His voice sounded too loud for Mikey's pained hearing.

"It's what…we chose…to be." He said barely managing a whisper; he slowly began to close his aching eyes as his vision went black. Mikey could no longer feel the pain as he felt less attached to his body. But then he thought he heard someone call his name which made him open his eyes and not wish the pain away.

"Mikey!" Tanya's voice cried again, she was beside him trying to undo his restrains around one of his arms. A cold laughter echoed through the room.

"You are too late, the poison will kill him within minutes and the loss of blood is critical. I will go with you human police and wait until he returns to the living world. Goodbye Mikey." With that the police dragged him out of the room and further away from Mikey. Mikey smiled and once again more began to close his eyes.

"Mikey!" Tanya was shaking him, urging him to hold on, Mikey made one last effort to open his eyes. "Where's the cure for the poison?" She asked hysterically, Mikey smiled, they were all so worried.

"Upstairs…suitcase…" His father ran out of the room to retrieve it. Mikey focused his attention on Tanya who had tears in her eyes.

"Hold on!" She begged and Mikey smiled again.

"I'm not…afraid." His eyes closed even with Tanya's protests, he pictured her face and then only knew darkness. Love you…

***

Tanya sat in silence next to Mikey's bed; the room was silent except from the beeps of the machine. She tried not to picture the way Mikey had looked in the basement before George had injected him with the cure. His skin had looked yellow from the poison flowing through his veins and his veins had been practically bursting from beneath his skin.

George had only just been in time to stop the poison from killing Mikey, but even with it out of his system Mikey's situation was still critical. The doctors had been able to stop the blood from flowing and many people had donated, but Mikey was still unnaturally pale from lack of blood.

Everyone was sat around him but no-one could bring themselves to break the silence, they had just been sat in silence waiting for a miracle to happen. For the first day Mikey had been in the Irish hospital, but once he seemed stable he was transported back to the other hospital. They transferred him so everyone would be able to sleep at their homes once in a while, no-one had left the hospital since they had arrived two days ago.

They had begged him to wake up, talked to him not knowing whether he could hear them. Even the ghosts had tried but they would be unsure of what to do. Sandra explained that the senses were saying that part of Mikey's soul was meant to die while the other was meant to live. She said that Mikey was fighting his true existence, unable to come back to them unless he won.

Adam came to help but he also couldn't find a solution to the problem, he tried to guide Mikey's half that he had created to them but it had proved useless. It was when Tanya was about to leave and report to her parents when Mikey's eyelids fluttered. She yelped out in surprise and told the others what she had seen, they all watched closely and a minute later Mikey's eyelids fluttered again. Tanya laughed happily as hope returned to her, but it quickly left as she saw the fear on all three ghost's faces.

"The council are approaching." Andy said, no sooner had he uttered the words then suddenly four ghosts appeared near the door. The three males each held a transparent box, two contained ordinary looked spirits while the other was pure white. It hurt to look directly at it.

"We have come here today to settle two situations." The woman said glancing around the room. "The first is the request from Sandra and Andy of town 8000 to rejoin the living. We have granted your request and therefore return to you the living part of the soul we once took."

Two of the ghosts opened the boxes containing Sandra's and Andy's souls, they first floated over to Mikey making a noise of concern before entering Sandra and Andy. They both took a deep breath and within a minute their pale skin was pinker.

"We wish you luck." The woman continued. "We are also here because of Mikey of town 8000. Our ghost saviour is having a battle with the soul that we created and he chose, the one we chose is winning. We have come to erase him in order to stop him overpowering us; we all believe it is the best thing to do."

"No!" Sandra shouted moving defensively in front of Mikey. "You can't just create him and then increate him whenever you like it, he has a soul too." The woman smiled calmly and spoke with obvious authority.

"This soul was created for one purpose, one mission to complete. It has come to our attention that it will now never happen the way we wished it to."

"You're wrong!" Tanya interrupted standing up and joining Sandra's side. "Mikey's more than your creation that you can discard anytime you choose, you weren't counting on him having his own choice. You just wanted a little robot but you got something even better, you may have noticed that Mikey finds your plan wrong but he will still do it, one way or another."

"We can easily give you another soulmate." The woman told her slightly tense.

"No you can't, because I'll never be able to love anyone as much as Mikey. Our souls were meant to be together and you can't take him away from me."

***

Beep, beep, beep. What's that noise? Mikey was confused, everything was dark and he could feel a distant pain. Wait, a machine. It was a machine, a hospital machine. Hospital? What hospital? Where's Tim? Where's Tanya? Are the two worlds safe?

It took a few more minutes for Mikey to realise what was going on. Tim was in prison and he must have been brought to a hospital, he could hear Tanya's voice arguing with someone. Mikey could sense the presence of seven ghosts in the room and four other souls.

Mikey slowly opened his eyes and was startled by the brightness of the room. Ignoring the pain he slowly sat up, no one noticed he was awake. Everyone was staring towards the door where four members of the ghost council stood; Mikey noticed that one of the males held his soul which everyone seemed to be squinting at.

"Can you give me a better reason why Mikey should not follow our way of changing the worlds?" The woman was looking at Tanya, not even aware that Mikey had awoken. He risked trying to speak with his aching throat.

"I believe the fault in you plan is you expecting me to kill Tim." Mikey's voice sounded croaky and his throat hurt but he continued. "The two worlds are trying to learn that violence is wrong, but how can you expect them to learn it when you attempt to end the problem in a similar fashion? Everything you're trying to achieve will fail, but I've found a different way of solving the problem. If you let me stay in existence I can rid you of your problem and still make sure that the worlds learn that violence is not the way."

The ghost council was silent for a while, then they began discussing amongst themselves using their minds so none of the ghosts could overhear. Mikey was gently hugged by everyone and at that moment Mikey didn't care whether they discarded him or not, at least he was able to see his loved ones one last time.

The ghost council had finished their silent discussion and turned once again to Mikey.

"We have decided to take this into a debate with the rest of the council. Your fate will be decided within two weeks, until then you may remain on the living world with your family and soulmate." She paused glancing at the other council members who gave a small nod. "We would also like to help you in some way, but we will need the three ghost's help." She said looking at Sandra, Andy and Adam.

"You don't have to take part in anything which is dangerous." Mikey said, the ghosts ignored him. The seven ghosts all linked hands and began to concentrate, it was only then Mikey noticed the box containing his soul had gone.

"God of life." The woman called out. "I ask you one request regarding Mikey of town 8000. He has suffered and will be in great pain, I ask you to help speed up his healing process in hope he will suffer no more."

"Your request is simple." Boomed a voice, "It is done." Before the words had even been finished echoing Mikey could feel his pain begin to ease. He glanced down at his arms and saw most of the cuts heal before his very eyes; the others that were deeper faded and became scars.

Mikey laughed with joy as the pain suddenly vanished, he jumped up from the bed and hugged Tanya tightly unable to stop his laughter. Once he had calmed down the woman spoke again while wearing a smile.

"We will come to you in two weeks, until then you are free." Then just as quickly as they had appeared they left leaving Mikey with two weeks of peace.

***

Mikey's peaceful two weeks soon came to an end with a barbecue at Elena's home. Everyone had come to wish him good luck apart from his mother who had returned home. Mikey could sense the ghost council arriving as he was trying to eat a hot sausage without getting it down his shirt. This time it was only the woman and a different man, Tanya immediately was at his side gently grasping his hand.

"We have come to a decision involving Mikey of town 8000. We do not know what you have planned but we know it may be more effective than our own. So therefore we have concluded that you may live in the living world until the worlds begin to change, then we shall see whether your plan works."

The woman nodded at the man who was holding Mikey's soul, he released and it gracefully rejoined Mikey.

"You are free." She said just before disappearing once more. Mikey laughed with joy once again, he was free. One day he would have to face Tim and try out his plan, but not just yet.

"I know that if you can't fix the worlds." Tanya said, "No one can." She gently kissed him and that was when Mikey realised he was free to be with Tanya. He kissed back knowing for just a little while he could be with her.

(sniff) goodbye story…for now at least. ^_^
