My first fictional story I've ever written! Please review!

"What about that one?"
"She's pretty hot. I think that shirt needs to be a little lower."
"Oh come on, guys," Cathleen Monroe broke in impatiently. "That girl is caked in makeup and she probably sleeps with every single guy she meets."
One boy with a shock of blond hair tousled her hair affectionately. "Just because you're not a girly-girl doesn't mean other girls can't be."
She grinned at him. "You're right," she conceded. "Why on earth would I want your disgusting species drooling over me?"
The boy with dark hair laughed. "As if they would drool over you anyway, Cat!"
Cat smiled good-naturedly, but his words cut deep. "Thanks, Todd," she managed to say. She wouldn't let them know how much they had hurt her. Todd Hennessey and Noah Jones were her best friends. #And they're just joking anyway,# she tried to convince herself.
"Can you imagine what would happen if Cat wore makeup?" The blond laughed. "Why is that so hard to imagine, Noah?" Cat raised an eyebrow.
He looked surprised. Cat usually answered with a sarcastic joke. "Well, we wouldn't recognize you. You've never worn makeup before."
Cat sighed. It was so easy to be "one of the guys." Making them see her in a different light, however, was incredibly difficult. Especially Noah. She wanted him to look at her like - well, she wasn't exactly sure what, but something more than this.
"I guess I'm just tired, guys." She pretended to yawn. "I think I'll go home. I'll see you tomorrow in first hour."
She ignored their puzzled stares and left the fast-food restaurant as fast as she could. She barely remembered the drive home. The only thing she could think about was the fact that they treated her as they would another guy.
Cat looked at the mirror in her room critically. Was she really that bad- looking? Her long, light brown hair fell straight to her shoulders. She had never really bothered with it before. "My eyes are so stupid," she muttered. "They look like deer's eyes - big and brown and soppy looking."
"What are you doing, Kitty-cat?" her father asked from her doorway.
Cat's cheeks flushed with embarrassment. "Nothing."
"Did you have fun with Noah and Todd?"
"I guess so."
He cleared his throat. "You look so much like your mother - young and beautiful. Teenage boys never see that."
Tears sprang into her eyes. "Thanks, Dad."
He gave his daughter an awkward hug. "Night, Kitty-cat."
"Night, Dad."

The roads were shiny with rain. The car hydroplaned slightly. The two occupants of the car laughed.
"Be careful, Mom," the younger girl warned. "These roads are slick."
The older woman laughed it off. "You worry too much. There isn't another car on the road. Just go to sleep and let me worry about the driving."
The girl obediently closed her eyes. A sharp jerk and a loud crash awakened her. The car seemed to be moving, but she couldn't tell in what direction. Her small body kept slamming into the seat belt, making it almost impossible to breathe. The car stopped moving and she felt sticky liquid running down her face. A look at the driver's seat revealed a jagged, bloody hole in the windshield. The seat belt had been ripped apart. The girl looked out the window and saw the mangled body lying fifty feet away.
Cathleen awakened in a cold sweat. She turned the lamp on hurriedly. With shaking hands she grabbed the glass of water next to her bed and gulped it greedily. The accident had happened five years ago - when Cat was twelve, but she still dreamed about it. The drunk driver who had slammed into their car had been going over one hundred miles an hour on a wet road. He hadn't died, but her mother had. Her sweet, beautiful, wonderful mother had died.
Cat listened to steady raindrops beat against the roof. It was a long time before she could fall asleep again.

Hope you enjoyed! I would really appreciate reviews, even flames if you really feel the need. As I said before, this is my first time posting a fictional story so I'd like any feedback you can give me. Thanks!
