Different
A girl stared out of the car at a train. Wind rushed in through the window. Hair danced across her pale face and tickled her chin. A smile crept into her lips as one last tear fell from her eye. Last year a train crashed while coming into town. She had been on that train. Looking down at her legs she was reminded that they weren't there. They had been amputated because they had been in trapped in the wreckage. She missed them eminently.
"Come on Eve." Her sister said breaking the memory. Eve lifted herself up with her arms and her sister picked her up and set her in a wheelchair.
"I wish things were different." She spoke softly. "Me too, but things aren't so you just have to deal with how things are."
