Rebirth of the Heart: Chapter Thirteen- Shiyue's Not Dead?

Warning: This is a story that has gay, yaoi, slash, or whatever you want to call it inside it. This means that there are two guys in here that like each other. If you don't like, don't read. I won't give much more warning beyond that. If you don't mind, then keep on reading.

"DADDY!!!" cried Shiken.

"What the heck was he thinking! Shiyue better be down there or I... I..." Kenri fell to his knees.

He didn't have the strength to rant, yell and be angry at Shiyue any more. What passed had passed. Shiyue had done something that sacraficed his life to kill Ryotsu. Shiken was crying constantly. Inori had said nothing. He was in the car doing something that wasn't mourning or crying. Don't think Inori wasn't upset. He was. However, he knew crying would not bring back Shiyue, so he kept his mouth shut and saved his tears.

"Why did daddy have to use it..." wispered Shiken.

Kenri heard this and ran to Shiken. "What did Shiyue use? Tell me Shiken, please."

Shiken looked downward. "Daddy didn't tell me much. He said I was too young to understand. He didn't even tell me the name of it."

"But what is it?"

"Daddy told me it's the last resort of our clan. However, you have to sacrafice your life to use it. That's what daddy did. He couldn't beat the mean person so he used the last resort thingy."

"So that means that Shiyue really is..."

Shiken only nodded. "Daddy is gone now."

Kenri bowed his head down. There was no hope now. If what Shiken said was true, then Shiyue had commited suicide to stop Ryotsu. Kenri's heart ached. Shiyue was gone and he didn't have the chance to propose or do anything with him anymore. He had missed his chance only a few minutes ago.

"We have to go get daddy's sword thing." wispered Shiken.

"Get what?" asked Kenri.

"Shiyue's sword." said Inori from the car. "Shiyue is dead. Shiken must now take up his blade."

Kenri blocked the path back. "NO! I will not let Shiken get that stupid katana! I will not let him take Shiyue's place! Let Shiken live a regular life. Demon slaying can wait. Shiken's all that's left of Shiyue. Let him be safe."

Shiken walked up to Kenri and gave him a puppy dog look full of tears and big eyes. "Please... Let me get daddy's sword thingy. Daddy said I have to if anything bad happens to him. This is bad. So I have to get the sword thing."

Kenri sighed. There was no way he could fight Shiken's puppy dog eyes as he was right now. "Okay. We'll go get it..."

Slowly, Kenri and Shiken got in Inori's car and drove back to the wreckage of the store house to attempt to find Shiyue's fallen blade. When they got there, they lost hope of finding it. Although little rubble remained, and most was dust, it was very desolate. Hardly anything could have survived the blast. Much less a katana. Still Shiken pleaded to search for it. Inori and Kenri gave in and so the search began. Through the night, they dug through all the rubble, dirt, and dust. There were a few close calls, but nothing else. Not even a shred of the sheath. Especially since it had been on Shiyue so it was most likely destroyed.

"Shiken, let's give up. It's not here. No weapon could have survived that. How do you expect to find it?" said Kenri wearily. It was dawn now. They had still found nothing.

"NO! It's here! I know it- OW!" cried Shiken.

Kenri and Inori immeadately ran over. Shiken had cut himself on something. It wasn't a bad cut. His hand wasn't going to be opperated on or anything. Inori ripped off some of his shirt and made a bandage for Shiken. While he did that, Kenri inspected the area where Shiken had cut himself. There was some thing under all the dust that was sharp.

"Wait! Cut... Something sharp... Check here!" deducted Kenri. It wasn't a briliant deduction, but could you have done any better after getting no sleep that night?

Inori and Kenri carefully went through the dust and rubble there. Slowly they uncovered something that was long and shiny. Kenri carefully lifted it out. It was the katana.

"DADDY'S KATANA!!!" shouted Shiken. "WE FOUND IT!!!"

"Why do I feel like I'm robing a grave." muttered Inori.

"Shut it." said Kenri as he carefully wrapped it in his over shirt. "Now what do we do?"

"Sleep?" said Inori.

"Can I see it?" asked Shiken.

Kenri carefully gave the katana to him. "Carefull. It's still sharp even though it's wrapped in that."

"Still sharp?" questioned Shiken. "Daddy told me if he was gone, it wouldn't be sharp."

Kenri thought back on what Shiken was saying. If it was supposed to be dull, then why was it sharp again?

"So long as it has a wielder, the blade will stay sharp and maintain itself."

"THAT'S IT!" shouted Kenri.

Shiken and Inori had jumped back at Kenri's outburst.

"What's it?" asked Inori.

"The blade! If it's still sharp, Shiyue is still alive!" shouted Kenri happily. "He has to be! He told me that the blade will stay sharp as long as it has a wielder. If Shiyue was the dead, the blade would be dull until Shiken held it. But we found it sharp! That means Shiyue is still alive!"

Shiken's eyes grew. "You mean daddy's still alive!" Shiken began to jump around. "DADDY'S ALIVE!"

"Hold it!" said Inori. "If Shiyue's alive, then why isn't he here? We surely would have come across his body in the search of the katana if he was here. He would have gotten up and helped us search! Think reasonably! There is a possiblity the blade was dull, but it could have picked up Shiken's life force and become sharp again."

Kenri instantly stopped after hearing that. Inori was right. That could have been a possiblity...

"What if his body was flung somewhere because of the blast, and he's still alive?" said Kenri hopefully.

Inori shrugged. "That's a possiblity out of the many. But I don't see any indication in any of the buildings that he could have been thrown into one of them. He must have been thrown long distance."

"Then we'll go find him!"

"Kenri, if we know that Shiyue's alive, then we've done enough for today. Let's get some rest and then we can search for him. I'll use my powers and see if I can see him anywhere on the way home. You can drive so I can consentrate. Plus Shiken has school today so he needs to get some sleep."

"Fine, we can get some rest, but I think we should pull Shiken out of school for today. He doesn't need that right now."

Inori sighed in defeat. "Fine. I'll call the school when we get home that Shiken isn't going in today. Then we can sleep for an hour or two, eat something, then go search for Shiyue. Okay?"

Kenri finally agreed. "Deal."

Meanwhile, Shiyue was actually very much safe in a building not too far away from the battle field. Slowly, he began to stir.

"Ugh... Where am I?"

Shiyue looked up at the roof to see another him looking down at him smiling.

"AH!" shouted Shiyue. He backed himself into a corner. "Who are you to look like me?"

The other Shiyue walked over to him. "Do not be afraid. I'm you but not you you."

"Oh, that just makes a ton of sense."

"In lamement's terms, I'm a projection of your soul." said Soul Shiyue who was obviously borred.

"That's a better explination. Now how did I get here?" asked Concious Shiyue.

"I brought you here."

"Am I dead?"

"Not really. You would have been had I not teleported our body here a fraction of a second after you created the blast."

"But why did you save our body? I know I would have died, but why?"

Soul Shiyue walked closer to Concious Shiyue. "Because, you aren't ment to die yet. You're supposed to get married to Kenri." said Soul Shiyue before he stuck out his tounge.

"I'm not going to. It's not safe."

"To hell with safety! Kenri is not glass. Shiken isn't either. Plus you just destroyed the demon of your opposite clan. Nothing will stand in the way of your marriage now!"

Concious Shiyue looked away. "I'm still afraid. Things change when you have a child and when you get married. I don't want things to change any more. I don't know what I want anymore."

"It's not a matter of what you want. It's a matter of what you need. You need Kenri's love and Shiken's innocence. You need the two of them together with you. You have to get married to Kenri!"

"Then what about my clan duties? I'm supposed to keep my name. I'm supposed to keep demon slaying. Shiken is supposed to keep the clan name. If we get married, I doubt Kenri will take my name. His name is his claim to his family's business."

"You can keep your name and Shiken can have both of yours."

"You're not going to make this easy are you?"

"Nope. I gave you your hard-headdedness. I can use it too."

"Then what if I do marry Kenri. Then what?"

"Then you live happily ever after, the end."

Concious Shiyue sighed. "I do want happily ever after. I'm just afraid of what happens after the after."

"You won't know until you try."

"I'm afraid of that too."

"Oh come on! It won't kill you! Trust me! I got married in your past life and I had a blast!"

"Did you marry Kenri?"

"Yes I did."

"When was that?"

"Oh, uh... don't remember. It was a different dimension."

"Oh that helps."

"Come on! What can it hurt? Everything will be fine. You'll live good life with Kenri and Shiken will grow up and take up demon slaying like he's supposed to."

"I guess so..."

"Forget guessing. Listen to your heart. What does it say?"

"It says that I should marry Kenri and that everything will be fine."

"Then follow your heart. No wrong can come of it."

"Then... if I'm supposed to follow my heart, let's get the hell out of here and back home with Kenri."

"Hell yeah!" shouted Soul Shiyue before he disapeared and Shiyue teleported home.

At Inori's house, Shiken was asleep. Kenri was taking a shower. Inori was scanning the area in an attempt to find any trace of Shiyue. He was unsucessful. The traces of Shiyue's energy were long gone now if there were any.

"It's hopeless."

"Not exactly."

Inori turned to the sound of the familiar voice.

"Did ya' miss me?" asked Shiyue with a wink.

Inori rubbed his eyes and looked again. There was Shiyue standing next to him in his kitchen perfectly fine and solid.

"Oh my god, you're alive?"

"In the flesh, no pun intended."

Inori ran up to him and hugged him as a friend. "Almost thought you were gone."

"I won't go down that easily." said Shiyue before breaking the embrace. "Where's Shiken and Kenri?"

"Shiken's asleep in my room. We decided to give him a day off school today. Kenri's in the shower. Why do you ask?"

Shiyue gained a wicked grin. "Thanks for telling me. I'll just go and see them now."

Inori watched him run up the stairs. "Don't do anything stupid!"

"In all the time you've known me, have I ever done anything stupid? Wait, don't answer that."

Shiyue ran up and into Inori's room. There, wrapped in blankets, was Shiken with Shiyue's katana near by. Shiyue smiled. Shiken had gone back and gotten it. He would definately have to give him a new toy after this. Quietly, Shiyue walked over to Shiken's sleeping form and poked him awake.

"Is it time to go already?"

"Go where? I hope Inori isn't spoiling you." said Shiyue.

Shiken's eyes widened again. "DADDY!! Did they go find you without me? Are you okay? Look, I got your katana thingy. Did you get thrown into a building?" said Shiken rapidly.

Shiyue just pulled him into an embrace. "I'm fine. They didn't go look for me. I came here. I didn't get thrown into a building, and I'm happy you got the katana. Daddy's going to take it now, okay?"

"Okay daddy."

"I'm proud of you that you went and looked for it and kept it safe."

"Thank you daddy."

Shiyue let go of Shiken and let him go back to sleep. He took the katana and put it back in the sheath.

"Now for Kenri..."

Shiyue kissed Shiken's forehead and walked out of the room. He listened for the sound of a running shower. Finding it, he crept into the bathroom. Kenri had his back turned. Water ran down his naked body in cascades. Shiyue slowly took off his stuff and crept towards the shower. Kenri was still just standing there paying no attention to anything. His mind was detached and far away. Shiyue snuck in the shower. The bits of water that hit him felt good. Slowly, he approached Kenri's back and latched himself on.

"Wha? Who's on my back! Get off!"

"I come to see you and you want to get rid of me already?" said Shiyue in Kenri's ear.

"I'd know that voice anywhere. Shiyue, get off my back so I can see it's you."

Shiyue got off and Kenri turned around. He gasped, then grabbed Shiyue and kissed him under the shower. Their warm bodies pressed together. Water ran down between them. Kenri forced Shiyue back against the wall and grinded his hips against his. Shiyue moaned before forcing Kenri back.

"As much as I'd enjoy that, I'm afraid we'll have to hold that off until later." wispered Shiyue.

"Why?" said Kenri as he nibbled on Shiyue's ear lobe. "No one's watching."

"We-we're i-i-in Inori-ri-ri's house. We c-c-can't now." said Shiyue as Kenri kissed a trail down Shiyue's jaw and rubbed his chest with his hand..

"Alright, but the minute we're in yours or my house, you're going to pay me back for all the sex you owe me." said Kenri huskly in Shiyue's ear.

"I'm okay with that." said Shiyue as he rested his back against Kenri's chest.

"I know you are." said Kenri as he wrapped his arms around Shiyue. "I know you are."

There, Shiyue's alive and there should be no problems now. Thankfully, no one sent the angry mob. The next chapter will end this story. But don't worry, it's Shiken's turn next. *grins evily* So you can expect a "continuation" not a "sequal". Also, please go on and read my other story that I'm doing called Unrivaled Love. It's another yaoi. That seems to be all that I'm good for. Meh, it'll pass. So go enjoy it now and review!
