It was a dark and stormy night. The house was deadly silent except for the
gentle scraping for the leaves blowing against the it. Mrs. Schitoffski was
in the ballroom chatting to some of her friends about a beutiful red dress
that was very old that had belonged to the Queen of England and that right
now the blue dress she was wearing had belonged to her too.. Of course they
didn't believe her. So she told them that she was going up to the attic to
get the red one. She walked to the stairs that led to the attic, strangly
there was something in the air. Like a presense of somebody long gone or a
feeling of uneasiness. She walked up the stairs slowly in a sort of trance.
She knew exactly where it was, it was hanging on a rack in the back of the
attic. However she did not walk toward the back but instead headed straight
for the middle where a large trunk was. She was compelled to open the lid
of the trunk and she did. She leaned inside to see why a force had brought
her to open the trunk. As her head tilted in closer the top suddenly
slammed down throwing her into the trunk and the latch clicked shut. She
was knocked uncouncious and never regained counciousness. She was trapped
inside the trunk forever and eventully she suffocated and died. Mr.
Schitoffski was so drunk that night that he didn't remember having a wife
and forgot everything, and Mrs. Schitoffski's friends thought she had run
off because she was lieing and counldn't face the shame of admitting it.
Several generations pasted and finnaly there was one generation that had a
young girl named Jennifer after the great-great aunt she never knew. She
lived in the same house and one night exactly like the one on which
Mrs.Schitoffski had died she invited a few friends over. One of them had
brought and Oujii board a game where you sit in the dark and ask the ghosts
to come and play or just ask them questions. Now eventully the story of
Mrs. Schitoffski had before legend and then myth just something somebody
had made-up along the road. However one of her friends Hannah was dead set
on finding out if it was true after Jennifer had told them the story. She
said the should use her Oujii board to see if the ghost of Mrs. Schitoffski
was really here. She set down the Oujii board and turned out the lights.
The board glowed a ghostly green color. She sat down next to it and said
quietly. "Is the ghost of Mrs. Schitoffski in this house" the pointer
slowly slowly spun to the word 'Yes' the girls shreiked with excitment.
Hannah was the first to use words again. She asked the others if they
wanted to go up to the attic and see is the trunk was there. They all
agreed and so slowly they crept to the stair and walked up carefull not to
make any squeeks. Once the reached the attic they searched around when
finnaly they turned a corner to see a giant human-sized trunk.
"MRS.SCHITOFFSKI!" Hannah shrieked. They walked up to it very carefully and
quietly. The lock rusted by many ages of leaks and dampness fell apart as
soon as they touched it. An awful smell came from the trunk. They slowly
pried open the latch and opened the lid to reaveal, a skeleton wearing a
faded blue dress exactly matching the description from the story. The girls
shrieked and ran downstairs screaming all the way. After that the skeleton
was removed from the trunk and giving a proper burial. However it is said
that Mrs. Schitoffski's ghost still lurks in that house. The location of
the house was forgotten but it is definitly in the USA it was also forgoten
if it was a two story or a one story house. But the fact still remains that
the trunk was left in the attic. So maybe you should search your attic.
Maybe your house is haunted. Maybe if your name is Jennifer and your attic
has a large trunk in it you should plan on sleeping in someone elses house
on dark and stormy nights.
