The monsters
You wonder why they never come out
The shadows you see
Why they won't just stab you till you die
The anger fills your brain
Overflowing into your heart
Into your eyes
You wish they would show themselves
And end your miserable life
You hope the man with the axe
Hiding under your bed
Would just come out
And sink his blade into your back
You long to hear him laugh
As he watches you die
But only when you have found happiness
He comes looking to kill
Then, when your smile leaves
He sits and watches you in your misery
But he won't stab you in your aching heart
Won't relieve you of yourself
You wonder why they never come out
The shadows you see
Why they won't just stab you till you die
The anger fills your brain
Overflowing into your heart
Into your eyes
You wish they would show themselves
And end your miserable life
You hope the man with the axe
Hiding under your bed
Would just come out
And sink his blade into your back
You long to hear him laugh
As he watches you die
But only when you have found happiness
He comes looking to kill
Then, when your smile leaves
He sits and watches you in your misery
But he won't stab you in your aching heart
Won't relieve you of yourself
