A Cold Winter's Morn--- by Ashley Brown

The crunch of the snow
The endless silence
The memories that whisper

A single tear falls
Another memory calls.

A young girl, making snow angels
A young lady and boy, hand in hand
A young adult, sitting on a bench

Another tear falls
Another memory calls

The year's almost up
Snow has fallen
A girl and her father walk in the park
Snow angels and icicles filling her head

A single tear falls
Another memory calls

The girl and the boy, hand in hand
Unaware of the world
Walking silently in the snow
Roses and hearts filling her head

Another tear falls
Another memory calls

The year is fading fast
Just as her mother's health was
The snow surrounds the silent girl
A tear in her eye, a rose in her hand

A single tear falls
Another memory calls

Joyous laughs
Twirls and jumps
Golden hair flies
A giggle arrives

Another tear falls
Another memory calls

A shy smile
A girlish giggle
A quick embrace
An awkward first kiss

A single tear falls
Another memory calls

A silent sob
A mother long gone
An endless regret
An even longer love

Another tear falls
Another memory calls

The crunch of snow
An endless silent,
The girl says goodbye
To the memories that whisper

A/N: January 2002. This poem brings mixed feelings from me. I love it dearly, but at the same time I truly hate it. I don't know why, but I do. Anyways, I was tickled when I found it, so I figured I'd post it. Please review! Thanks~
