Elizabeth Huntly walked quickly under the bright street light, doing her best to avoid being spotted. Her blood red hair drifted down in a frame around her face, and she quickly brushed it back. Her jeans were covered in the rusty color of dried blood, and were heavy to walk in. She pulled her black cloak closer around her as she ran down the dark street, trying to escape the persicusion of the street light. Elizabeth still hadn't come to terms with what she had just done...but somehow...she knew it was for the best.
You just killed a man, and all you can think of is that it's for the best? She knew it wasn't okay, but it was her job. She was told to demolish Patrick Marlin, and now that was behind her. The man who gave her the assignment, David Harlet, was standing on the street corner, looking at her as if searching her face for a look to prove she had done what she was told to. She quickly nodded her head at his questioning look, and stopped to stand beside him in the darkness of the night. A full moon was staring down at her through a break in the pine trees, and she turned away her face so that she couldn't see it. Oh Goddess forgive me for what I've done..but I had no other choice.
"So...he's been taken care of?"
"I was hired for the job, and I never go back on what I say I'm going to do. You should know that as well as anyone David."
"True..but I didn't think you would actually be able to follow through with it, what with your emotional attachment to Marlin."
"You should never underestimate me David."
"I won't from now on. Are you ready for your next assignment?"
"Assignment? I just killed a man, and you ask me 'Are you ready for your next assignment' ?!"
"When you died did you not agree to give up your beliefs and work for me? Because if you are going back on that now Elizabeth, I suggest you think about what happens if you do this."
"I know god damn well what happens if I go back on my word, you don't have to tell me twice David."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~**Flash-back**~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Lizzie are you sure you want to go through with this?" whispered Anna.
"Positive."
"But you've heard the stories about what happens when you die...What if a demon confronts you and asks you to work for him?"
"Then I'll do whatever I have to. Just shoot me Anna...that was our deal."
Anna removed the small hand gun from inside her school bag, and pointed it at Elizabeth. She fingered the trigger, but her hands were trembling too hard to pull it.
"Forget it Lizzie, I won't do it. I refuse to kill my best friend because of something she did." Anna tossed the gun onto Elizabeth's lap, and turned her head away so that Elizabeth couldn't see how scared she was.
"Have it your way, I'll do it myself." Elizabeth picked up the gun and held it to her head.
"Lizzie don't!" But Anna was too late, she had already pulled the trigger. She could hear the sound of sirens in the background. Damn Anna for calling the police..it won't do any good anyway. I know I hit on target, I didn't do months of studying just to miss. Finally, Elizabeth collapsed.
"Elizabeth wake up." Elizabeth shifted her position on the cold, hard floor, and looked up at the man calling her name.
"Who are you and where am I?"
"Well, for the first question, I'm David Harlet, some call me the Devil. For the second, you're in a little place most call hell."
"Wait a minute..where?"
"The underworld, the realm of fire...Hell."
"Oh..." So I really did die when I fired that gun...The man, David, looked down at her.
"Look girl, we don't have a lot of time here. You were a Wiccan before you died, and I need to make sure that all of that stops right now."
"Why?" Elizabeth's then-blonde hair was laying messily across her pale face as she looked up at him.
"Because I can't have that damn goddess showing up trying to claim you before I talk to you." He tossed a piece of paper at her. "Sign it." A pen magically appeared beside the small piece of paper, and she picked it up, twirling it between her fingers.
"And if I don't sign it?"
"You don't live."
"That isn't much of an option, and it doesn't seem very fair."
"No one ever said I was fair. Just sign the god damn piece of paper!" Elizabeth gingerly placed the uncapped pen tip to the paper, and signed her name with her old flourish. The piece of paper turned black for a second, and then turned a firey red, burning Elizabeth's fingers.
"Ow that hurts!"
"No one ever said hell was comfortable. So your name is Elizabeth Huntly eh? Never thought I'd get a Huntly down here..Oh well, it was your choice to die, not mine. Now get off the floor." Elizabeth stood up, and turned to face him. Suddenly a blast of air hit her so hard that it whipped her around like a speeding tornado, and finally knocked her to the floor.
"Bravo, quite an improvement if you ask me."
"Huh?"
"Look at yourself in the mirror over there." Elizabeth got up off the floor, and crossed the black marble to the mirror on the far wall. There was her same face, but her blonde hair was blood red, and the clothes she had died in, a green t-shirt and shorts, had been replaced by a pair of blue jeans, a black t-shirt with the words "Hell's a great vacation spot" written on it, a black cloak, and a silver skull necklace with a sword coming down from its jaw. On the sword it said "Demon" in dark black lettering.
"Why do I look like this?"
"Read the paper and you'll know why." She picked up the paper and read what it said aloud.
"I, Elizabeth Huntly, give up all rights to the Goddess, and promise to never seek her help. I turn over all of my decision making to David Harlet, and will not argue with him on anything he tells/asks me to do. I give up all rights as of the minute I sign this piece of paper. If I shall break my promise, I will be eternally damned in the fires of Hell, and will, as an eternal punishment, be sent back to earth to watch everyone that I ever cared about die. I will also become David's personal slave, and will have no say at all in what happens to me while in his care. And most importantly, I will never befriend nor interact with any Angels."
"Well there you go, now you know exactly why you look the way you do."
"But what is going to happen to me now?"
"You are going to go on your first assignment."
"Assignment? To do what?"
"I want you to kill Anna."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~**End Flash-back**~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Elizabeth blinked tears from her gray eyes remembering her first assignment. God Anna I'm so sorry...
"Don't go getting emotional on me now Elizabeth, we've got work to do."
"Alright...What's my next assignment?"
"There's been an Angel sighted in Brooklyn undoing everything the other Demons have accomplished, and I need him stopped."
"Wait...you're telling me you want me to go to Brooklyn and stop some Angel doing good deeds?"
"That's exactly what I want you to do."
"Then it's as good as done."
"I'll take your word for it."
Elizabeth turned around and walked down the street, eventually disappearing in the cold October air. Why didn't I just tell him that I would die rather than sign that paper five years ago? I was only 14 when I agreed to sell my soul to the Devil, now I'm 19 and his own personal assistant. God what a lovely life I live. Wait no..forgot, I'm not even alive anymore! Elizabeth chuckled under her breath knowing how pathetic it would sound if she were to say that sort of thing out loud where everyone could hear her.
She appeared outside an old apartment building in Brooklyn, only to see the Angel's sandy blonde head floating above her.
"Hey you! I need to have a little word with you about all the deeds you've been doing around here." The Agel floated down and stepped on the hard, gray cement. "Hey I'm talking to you, the least you could do is look at me while I do it." The Angel turned around, and at the sight of his calm and caring face, Elizabeth's heart melted.

I honestly have no idea where this came from. I was thinking about writing a poem, and then all of a sudden I was writing the first chapter of a new story! How about that? Well don't worry too much, I will still continue to write Pine Hurst:The Psyco Hospital, though as usual I'll probably be slow on updating with new chapters. Speaking of that..SOMEONE REVIEW CHAPTER SEVEN DAMN IT! Lol sorry about that, I'm just getting a little impatient. Hoped you enjoyed my new story!
