I
want to wander further in my life than any have gone before,
I yearn to reach a land where horizons are no more,
My sight thirsts for visions of an unknown shore.
What
sea is it that I shall sail?
To vast, too deep, for any whale;
'Til even sunlight fades to pale.
What
visions wait for me across that wide expanse,
That's never seen for diamonds bright at first or second glance,
Yet is the darkened waves through which the diamonds dance?
My
heart breaks with every sigh,
With every wayward thought that I may die
Before I reach that distant sky.
How
did I curse myself in life before
That, should I rest on any shore,
My soul is stolen by the endless seaside roar?
