So simple it started,
so innocent it was,
so tragically it ended.
A simple friendship-
A few dinners,
A few movies,
A few breakfasts,
And occasional cups of coffee.
So simple it started.
An innocent love-
A calming embrace,
A tender touch,
A fiery passion,
It all started with a kiss.
So innocent it was.
An life that couldn't be saved-
She took the pain meant for him,
And he took the sadness meant for her.
He lives and she's gone,
All because of her love for him.
So tragically it ended.
So simple it started-
Or so they thought.
So innocent it was-
If only it had been.
So tragically it ended,
All because of her love for him.
