Restraint

Once I was crazy,
They locked me away,
I knew that eventually,
I'd make them pay.

Pay for the pain,
That they made me feel,
Pay for the way,
That I felt so unreal.

Pay for the bitterness,
They planted within,
Pay for the heartache,
The lies and the sins.

One day I'll know,
The truth of the matter,
One day I'll forgive,
And then things might get better.

But until then I'm happy,
Harbouring hate,
Until then I'm satisfied,
Deciding my fate.
