And Then I was Gone

Another face of the infinite crowd
I walked all alone
No face to call my very own.
And then I was gone.

Lost drifting in the communal identity
I found myself drowning
Alone in the vast human sea.
And then I was gone.

I had no reason to stay there
Not a soul would mourn me
No one would care.
And so I was gone.

Who would miss a nameless face?
An unknown voice
A drifting soul without a choice.
And so I am gone
