My Paper Heart

Not sheltered in my own skin,
The pain only reels within,
Wake up now in this place, Earth,
Only waiting for my rebirth.

Tears are burning my flesh so fragile,
Resting in my own space for a while,
Cannot find true tranquility,
Trying to dip myself into reality.

My paper heart singes with a breath,
Crushing with asphyxiation, death,
No longer able to fully exhale,
Trying to embark again, but fail.

Frozen to a depressive state inside,
Life drapes on my shoulder, I abide,
This world I wish I could depart,
To sew and mend my paper heart.
