We would climb trees on never ending days
Look up at incandescent blue skies
We would talk all day about everything
But never exchange lies
We would kiss with no worry
Hold hands when we're scared
But there would be no push or hurry
But eventually we would be paired
The sun would stare questionably down
And ask you and me who we are
And we would reply from the tallest block in town
We are strong, together the brightest star
We would never be afraid or sad enough to hurt
We would be so happy so one could poke
Because when they touched we turned to dirt
And everything we had turned into a joke
