DISCLAIMER: I DON'T OWN DAVEY YET, BUT I DO OWN ALL THE CHARACTERS YOU DON'T RECOGNIZE, AND IF YOU DO RECOGNIZE ONE, IT'S A COMPLETE COINCIDENCE.

"You don't know how long I've waited to hold you again," Davey whispered into her ear. He kissed Nicolette's forehead softly and pulled her body closer to his. "It seems like it's been a lifetime since I last had you close to me."

"I know," she replied, "Davey, I'm so miserable without you, sometimes you and Natalie are the only reasons I live."

"Nicolette, I love you more than I've ever loved anyone or anything, I couldn't live without you, if you died, I would as well." Davey embraced her more tightly than before. He rested his head upon hers. She sighed into his chest. She could hear his steady heartbeat. Davey stroked her hair gently. "I wish you never had to feel any pain," he said. Her eyes gazed into his. "You didn't deserve what life did to you, you didn't deserve any of it," Davey continued. He kissed her petal soft lips in a soothing way.
Life had really done some rotten things to Nicolette. It had taken her mother away from her when she was only seven. It had forced her to live with her drunken dad. But those incidents were nothing compared to what else she had been through.

"Mommy," a young voice called from upstairs. Nicolette and Davey heard the sound of tiny feet running. "Mommy, I don't want to sleep in my room, its dark there," her little girl walked down the stairs with her doll in hand. Nicolette picked her up off the ground. Natalie wrapped her arms around her mother's neck. "Can I sleep with you and daddy tonight?"

"Yes you can, angel," Nicolette said, her voice soft. She hugged the blonde toddler in her arms.

"Mommy I love you,"

"I love you too," Nicolette replied, putting the child back on the ground. Natalie walked over to Davey and hugged him.

"Hey squirt, do you love me?" he asked.

"Yep! I love you daddy!" she said giggling.

"Go get in bed and we'll be up in a second," Nicolette told her.

"Okay," she said and ran up the stairs.

"Maybe some good did come out of everything awful that's ever happened to you," Davey said.

"Maybe," Nicolette agreed.

Once in their bedroom, Natalie settled in snugly between the two bodies of Nicolette and Davey. "'Night mommy, 'night daddy," she said.

"Good night," they both replied. Soon, the little girl was asleep.

"Are you sure you don't mind her calling you 'daddy'?" Nicolette asked.

"Of course I don't mind, I think it's kind of cute," he said.

"Well, you know I'd much rather her think that you were her father than her knowing who really is," Nicolette added.

"I know." Davey reached out to caress her face, "Don't worry love, everything will be fine now,"

"I hope so."

"It will be, trust me." With that, Nicolette closed her eyes and fell asleep with her daughter next to her.

PLEASE TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK. I REALLY HATE PLEADING LIKE THIS, BUT I REALLY WANT AND NEED TO KNOW. I ALSO WOULD LIKE SOME OPINIONS ON WHETHER OR NOT TO CONTINUE THIS.
