Davey held her close as she began to sob. "Shh..." he comforted, "Nothing bad will happen, nothing bad at all." Her body became limp in his arms, all of her weight was supported by him.

"Davey, I'm so scared. I don't want to think about what can happen." She said through her tears. He brushed them off of her face.

"Don't worry, it will all be okay." He continued in a calm voice. They continued to embrace for a few moments. Nicolette rested her head on his shoulder as he continued to soothe her. Another pair of arms wrapped around Nicolette. She looked down to find a small girl with her arms around her.

"Are you okay mommy?" Natalie asked. Nicolette bent down to pick her up.

"Yes, I'm fine."

"Then why are you crying?" Nicolette smiled.

"I'm not anymore, angel." She assured her.

"Good." Natalie said wiping the remaining tears off of Nicolette's face. "I love you mama."

"I love you too." Davey smiled softly as he watched the mother and daughter. He wrapped his arms around Nicolette's waist and hugged both her and Natalie closer.

"My poor angels," he whispered, "I wish you didn't have to be sick." He kissed them both on their foreheads. "You should get back in bed, I don't want you to get worse." Much to his surprise, neither one argued.

"Would you find someone to take care of Natalie tomorrow?" Nicolette asked. Davey nodded.

"Sure thing, I'll schedule an appointment and then call Jade or someone."

"Alright, thanks darling." She whispered and snuggled in closer to the blankets.

"Where are you going tomorrow?" asked Natalie. Nicolette turned to face her.

"I've got to go to the doctor because I'm sick. This is much more serious for me than it is for you," she added.

"But you'll be alright?"

"Yes, I'll be fine."

"Okay," she wrapped her arms around Nicolette again and closed her eyes.

"Are you tired?"

"Yeah." Davey tucked the blanket in around them snugly. After kissing them again, he left the room. He couldn't escape the feeling of worry that had overtaken him. Nicolette was his life and he couldn't stand to see her unhappy. He knew that if she lost the baby, she would be a wreck. If he had ever been in need of a God, it was now. He slowly walked over to the phone and dialed the doctor's number. Once he had explained the problem, he had an appointment made for 8 o'clock the next morning. After that, he called Jade.

"Hello?" Jade said.

"Hi, I've got a favor to ask of you."

"And what would that be?"

"Nicky is sick, and really needs to get to a doctor, and we have no one to take care of Natalie. Do you think you could do it?"

"I'd be more than happy to. What time?" Jade asked. Davey gave him the time, thanked him and hung up. He walked back to the bedroom where Natalie and Nicolette were lying in bed. Natalie was asleep, Nicolette was staring at the ceiling.

"What?" she answered quietly.

"Is there anything you need?" She smiled.

"You." She moved over a bit on the bed. "Come on, there's plenty of room." Davey took his shirt off and lay down next to her. She wrapped her arms around him and positioned her head on his chest. He reacted simply by returning the gesture of embracing her. He brushed the hairs that had escaped her braid out of her face.

"You know, you're even beautiful when you're sick." He whispered. She smiled.

"You're just saying that."

"Why the hell would I say that for no reason at all?" Davey asked her.

"I don't know, give me some time to think about it." He shook his head and laughed.

"You always have to have the last word, don't you?"

"Yes, I do." He kissed her yet again. "I really wish you'd stop doing that." She said frowning.

"What? Kissing you?"

"Why?" he asked.

"I don't want to think about what you have to look at when you do that."

"Then don't think about it and let me kiss you some more." He finished putting his lips to hers, keeping her silent. Nicolette sighed deeply.

"I give up."

"Good. Now go to sleep, love."

"Alright, I will. I love you Davey."

"I love you too," He cradled her body in his arms and stroked her hair until she had fallen asleep. After kissing the sleeping woman one last time, Davey fell asleep as well. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

"Nicky, come on love, get up." Davey's voice awakened her. "Come on, get out of bed." He repeated. She yawned and wiped the sleep out of her eyes. "Good morning!"

"Good morning," Nicolette said in a significantly less cheery voice. She walked to the shower and came out a few minutes later, her hair wet and her body wrapped in a towel. From the flesh Davey could see, the red eruptions were probably all over her body. He kept his eyes on her as she walked to the closet to get dressed. Nicolette noticed him staring at her. "What?" she asked.

"Nothing, I just love watching you." She shook her head and continued in her effort to get dressed.

"Can I wear your hoodie?"

"Uh...yeah. Why?"

"Because it's nice and warm and comfy. And it smells like you."

"Oh, okay." She turned her back to him and pulled the garment over her head. "Hmm...you look good in my clothes." He said, circling around her.

"Well, I'm glad you think so." He brushed her hair over her shoulder and caressed the back of her neck with his lips. She sighed and said, "If you'll excuse me, I'm going to do my hair now."

"I think I'll follow you."

"If you must."

"Yes, I must." He trailed right behind her as she headed in the direction of all her hair supplies. She picked up a brush and started to pull it through her pale blonde mane. "Can I?"

"Can you what?"

"Brush it for you?" Nicolette raised an eyebrow.

"I guess." Gently, Davey began to brush through her hair. He pulled it into a ponytail as soon as he was done. She glanced at herself in the mirror. "I wish I could get rid of these awful spots."

"You will soon, love, you will." He assured her. He hugged her. "Are you still worried?"

"Like you wouldn't believe."

"You hide it well, dearest." Touching her cheek affectionately, he added, "It will all be okay though." She smiled at him.

"If you say so."

"I do." They stood in silence. "Is there anything else you need to do? Eat breakfast?"

"Don't mention breakfast." She said, turning an odd shade of green.

"I'm sorry,"

"Don't worry about it. I'll forgive you this time. I think I'm going to go get Natalie up so that she knows what's going on."

"Okay." Nicolette kneeled down next to the bed that they had all shared the previous night. "Angel." She said shaking her awake.

"What is it mama?" Natalie said in between yawns.

"We're going to leave soon, Jade's going to come over to watch you," She smiled widely.

"Yay! He's fun." She said instantly awake.

"You're sick." Nicolette pointed out.

"But we can still have fun right?" Davey grinned at her.

"Of course, he'll do exactly what you want him to do." He answered her. Nicolette shook her head.

"Don't annoy him, okay?" Nicolette pleaded.

"I won't."

"Alright." The doorbell rang at that moment.

"I guess he's here. And actually on time!" Davey said. He took Nicolette's hand and pulled her to the door with him.

"Hey!" Jade said. "I'm here." Nicolette stood on her toes to kiss his cheek.

"Thank you so much! You don't know how much I appreciate this." He blushed brightly.

"It's no problem, I love watching Natalie." As if on cue, Natalie skipped down the stairs.

"Hi!" Jade replied.

"We're leaving now angel." Nicolette said.

"Alright, I love you mommy, I love you daddy."

"I love you too," they said at the same time. Nicolette kissed her and said goodbye. She followed after Davey who was pulling her along telling her that they were going to be late.
