Young girl caught in darkness and rain
Calls out to the night as two had done before her
Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani??
Not even a decade into life as she spoke those words
Not realising the call she had ignited in heaven
As the storms raged around her
The front door of the fortress locked
No shelter for her there
The outside holds evil intentions
So she sits moaning, crying, shivering
Calling out in the dark
Soaked by the rain, terrified by the lighting
Calling out in the dark
Those words of centuries past
Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani??
Not knowing she'll call them again through her life
Not realizing the stir she's causing in heaven
As small innocence is lost in the waves of the storm
Unknown to her, heaven heard her plea long before
And would do so every time she's forced to stand alone
A Hand covers the wounded soul from a storm that rages
Not on the outside but within
Never will she be forsaken... not now...
As she was not then
