"King Acheron, King Acheron," a tall, reedy man rode into the courtyard,
the horse near exhaustion,
"the Prime Evils are attacking the Guardians of time for the eight keys!" he cried.
After stating this, the man, pale and sweating, fainted from exhaustion onto the rough stone floor. The old king turned as white as the falling snow.
"Oh dear, oh dear, if the Prime evils ever get their hands on the eight keys, the universe is doomed!" the old king muttered to himself as he paced back and forth across the courtyard.
" Why?" asked the King's new advisor," they're just keys!"
The King sighed as the onlookers gasped with outrage. The cold, bitter wind picked up,
"The eight keys were fashioned to open the doors to time. Some people say time is the door to another dimesion in which there is a crystal that grants it's holder even more power than immortality!" replied the King.
The advisor paled even more then the King as understanding dawned him.
"The fate of the universe is in their hands! The goddess bless them!"

"Angel, I don't think we can hold them back, we may have to invoke the spell!" shouted Necran as he made a spirit shield against a blast of inferno.
"I agree with Necran, we hardly have enough power to block their attacks let alone attack them!" added NightSeer as she invoked a blinding spell.
The whole area flashed as white light filled it for a moment, then returned to normal. An inhuman scream confirmed that the spell worked. As NightSeer prepared to invoke another spell, Bael hit her with a powerful lash of his tail, breaking her concetration.
" Are you alright?" asked Angel as he teleported in front of her, his face full of concern.
" They are so dead for messing with me!" She growled in return.
"Yep, she's alright!" laughed Alaya as she caught NightSeer's words.
"We have to use the spell. Does everyone agree?" asked Fyrestorm as he called up some more dire wolves. When he looked around, everyone nodded, the effect of their light banter fading from their faces, turning it bleak and grim.
The spell was not hard to invoke, but it was the nature of the spell that made it one of the forbidden spells. The spell itself could turn itself on the spellcaster or increase the power of the enemy. With the nature of the spell, it was extremely dangerous and a last resort for the guardians.

As they got into place, Avonila and NightSeer made a protective bubble. Though it was basically invisible, there was a shimmering of lights that slightly indicated the sphere.
Sealing the bubble, Elywne tested it with her magic arrows. Dieblo also helped unknowningly, breathing flames that encircled the bubble, briefly blocking their vision with red, hot fire.
There was barely a rise in the temperature. NightSeer smirked in satisfaction, " Nothing I make is anything less than perfect!" she stated smugly. Beldor shoots a scowl in her direction, but NightSeer doesn't notice it.
"Ready?" Necran asked as the others exchanged what might be their last words. As each nodded, determination entered their faces. Together they started to chant. As their voices entwined, everything began to light up.
With their last words, a blinding flash lighted the whole sky, turning everything into pure white space. For a second, there was nothing. No universe, no time, nothing.
A beat sounded. It was a rythmn, like a beating heart. Then, all was silent, everything was back. Everything, that is, except for the Prime Evils and the Guardians.
