The grass is dry beneath our twitching hands
But the warmth seeps through like warm silk sand
Eyes darting, looking for something to talk about
The past year we have both been lost, full of blue teenage doubt

The sky is grey, sloshed over like sludge
I pick up a leaf and give you a playful nudge
But the leaf crumbles and sways to the ground
Like ashes of past memories forming a mound

I pick at the grass; the dirt gets pushed to my nail
I search my mind for something to say, but I fail
A massive wave of tiredness sweeps my eyes away
To a few years ago,
When we were untouched by each other,
We were happy in those days
