Ok, this is my first story. It really sucks but that's okay I guess. Some
or most of the characters are based on my friends so thanks to them for
being so unique and letting me use them in my crappy story.
This story is part of a series called -The Ones-, being written by my friend and I. Sadly, she moved and I have no idea what we're going to do about it. Anyway, this (I think) is the first one. ~*~

Chapter one- Crazy Bus
I watched as we passed the small town of Otis. I had been hoping for sleep, but we were nearly there and I was too excited to even close my eyes for too long.
I glanced across the aisle. The bus was fairly empty, but there was this guy that was being loud enough to make it full.
He looked to be about my age, fourteen or so, and I would guess he was about 5'6". He was sitting next to a girl who was our age too, but she was a good four inches shorter.
The guy kept trying to flirt with the girl in front of him who would, in turn, ignore him. I had noticed earlier that she would turn around in her seat and smack him across the face. She probably would have kept doing it if the counselors hadn't been giving her dirty looks.
The next time he opened his mouth the girl next to him grabbed his shoulder and turned him to face her.
"Lukey," she hissed. "I love you deeply, but please, please be quiet."
It looked as if he might actually be silent for a while, and it was in those seconds that I seriously considered applauding the girl next to him until-
"Do you really love me?" he asked her.
She glared at him with cold blue eyes, "No." I smiled. I noticed that the girl in front of what's his name- Lukey? - Grinned as well.
He ran his hand through his hair for the hundredth time in the past hour. It was starting to get annoying. His hair, and the hair of the girl next to him were both probably brownish at some point. His had been dyed a kind of bleach blonde, which made me feel even prouder of my own blue.
Yes, blue. A month ago it had been magenta. I think, since my hair is originally black, blue works best for it.
I then turned to the window. The other bus was just ahead of us; every time the road swerved I could see a glimpse of it.
My cousins were on that bus, Onyx and Tilliyan. I would've gone with them if it hadn't been so full. I actually did have a seat on there in front of Tilly, but some whiny six year old with pigtails who wanted to sit with her friend got me kicked off.
We were to be Teen Volunteers upon our arrival. We were the big people, besides real staff members, that is. Everyone else was inferior, and for once in my life, I would have ultimate power. Wahahahaha!!! (A/N: Sorry about the craziness ^_^)
Anyway teen volunteers were the only ones allowed to bring any electronic devices. It seemed like the girl in front of Lukey had taken advantage of that rule. She clicked opened the top of her red CD player and replaced her Linkin Park CD with Anti Flag.
Her hairstyle was...odd. I won't take time to explain it, but let's just say pink, black and spikes.
She wore a black shirt with red writing on it that was inscrutable from my point of view. Around her neck was a black collar with metal spikes. No doubt some staff member would take -that- away from her. I would've asked about the black streaks going down her face if she didn't look like she'd slit the throat of anyone who approached her. Onyx dressed and acted in the same way so I was used to it. kind of.
Suddenly she turned, caught me staring, and gave me the ultimate death glare. I sheepishly turned back to the window.
The scenery was great, and repetitive. Trees, trees and. Oh my god! More trees!
I found myself not actually looking at the trees, but at the reflection in the window of Lukey and his seatmate. After a few minutes, judging by the way they acted toward each other, I could safely guess that they knew each other before now.
I wondered how they knew each other. She'd said that she loved Lukey deeply, which probably meant that they were a couple. Sucks for me, she was kind of cute. She had light brown hair and hazel eyes that had been blue a second ago. Creepy, whatever. I looked past the reflection, through the window, and into the forest. Ah, more trees.
Absentmindedly, I began to hum a song that had been stuck in my head all day. It bugged me when I did that. Not only did I usually not much like the songs, but people also thought I was mad. Which is partially true. This song was okay.
"Hey Taerie. Why don't you tell that dude to shut up?" I looked over. Crap! I'd been doing it again and Lukey had noticed.
The girl, Taerie, leaned forward so she could see me, "I was enjoying it, that's one of my favorite songs. Plus he's got a good singing voice." She smiled at me.
Oh, wow. She smiled at me. She had this cute smile that was kind of crooked, but very friendly and nice.
I got this weird feeling, -Corey-, I thought, -why are you getting crazy over a girl smiling at you?-
I was too stupid to smile back or at least say thank you. When Taerie's remark registered in my brain I began to feel very embarrassed.
-Look at the trees, if your head is turned, she won't be able to see you.- I told myself.
Yes, trees. Lovely Trees.
I let my mind roam and I soon found myself wondering how many trees could fit into a square mile. (I hope I wasn't humming) Then all of the sudden, the trees were no more. and there was grass! And a park! And right next to it- a river, the Salmon River to be exact.
The bus squeaked to a stop, adjacent to the other. People stood up and stretched; glad to be free of sitting. We grabbed our stuff and lined up in the aisle. I, fortunately or not, I can't decide which, was squished between Taerie and Lukey.
A voice came from behind me, "Nice hair, dude." I wheeled around, it was Lukey.
"Y-yeah, thanks. I like yours too." I stuttered, eyeing his bleach blonde hair. So it turned out, he had -really- long legs and was a lot taller than 5' 6", more like 5' 11"
"Glad someone likes it." He said, raking through his hair yet again, "My sister switched my hair gel with this dye stuff. Took me a while to realize what was happening and by that time, it was too late." Taerie turned around and smiled at him mischievously with her crooked smile. I noticed that she had long legs too and was actually about 5' 5"
Lukey glared, "What're you looking at, idiot?" She turned back and followed the spiky haired girl in front of her off the bus to Camp Lone Tree. (A/N: Lame, I know but I DON'T CARE! I was also having brief writer's block and I couldn't think of anything else. Plus, camp's names are usually lame, right?)

K. so what do you think? Review please! I will take flames, and in my friend Ashley's words I will use them to heat the cafeteria. ^_^
