Sky gazing

Night falls.

The silky stars close in on the sky.

The cold, soft, darkness wraps its icy hands around me.

Lying in the dewy grass,

Staring at the sky.

I pull the sweater closer; keep the heat a little longer.

The door is locked, I can't get in.

The moon rises with an eerie glow.

'Star light, star bright, bright star I see tonight,

I wish I may, I wish I might have this wish I wish tonight.'

Wish for an unknown desire.

Keep it secret, or it won't come true.

Cassiopeia, Orion, the Little Dipper, too,

All keep me company in this nocturnal dream.

Old friends, timeless contacts to the sky.

Keep quiet.

Keep my secrets.

Slumber rests upon my brow.
