I choose to survive

Breathless, exposed.
To harsh cruel wind
And coursing rain,
Without an enclosed case
I begin to shiver.

Covered in mud,
And grime.
Over my head,
And under my feet.
With no way to get clean,
I begin to smell.

I am thrown,
Off a bridge,
Into an unknown sea.
Without a raft,
I begin to drown.

It's a hard road,
To heaven or hell.
Sink or swim?
Get clean or smell?
Shiver or survive?
It's a choice,
We all must make.

In the end,
I choose to swim,
I choose to get clean,
I choose to survive,
Without your help.
