May the dreams of tonight strip away the cares of today

may the moon trail gently through the star shrouded night

Hold fast, my guiding star, for my head is weary and my mind blank

Take me not across the threshold of tomorrow until the day's burden falls from my shoulders

In my dreams I seek respite, both from the glory and the grimness of life

Cradle me in vague contentment as the darkness slips away

And when the sun breaks forth from yon horizon

gather again unto me the will and energy to live on

That I might embrace the day as a new beginning

Putting to rest old ills and again pursuing the dreams of the heart

So I may sleep without troubling regrets.
