You were liquid emotion, a force swirling around my heart.
You ran through my veins like liquid fire and lit my soul with your rapturous art.
Yet you burned too brightly and your fire grew too violent, viscous and fierce.
The fire faded and I was forced to cry you out drop by drop, tear by tear.
Now nothing of you lingers here. I drained my body of you, as the light grew dim.
Now the only remnant of you that remains are traces of tears that reside on my skin.
