LEAVING THE SEA
I saw the rocks, I saw the seas, the mountains far away
The fire red, the pure yellow in the break of day
I left the place I'd never seen before
I left the breaking of the shore
But every time I hear the wind, it will whisper sea
I have to go down to the sea again, with all my heart I plea
I remember the crystal blue, I remember the jade green
But with my eyes these things will never again be seen.
I remember the birds that would fly above me and cheep
I remember the water that was so deep
I remember the palm trees that stood behind
I remember the sun that so gratefully shined
I remember the cloudy, misty days
I remember the horizon's distant haze
I remember the ships that sailed at night
I remember the light house's constant light
I remember the soft, warm sand
I remember the crabs that scuttled on land
In my mind I've lots of happy memories
None happier then when I saw the seas.
