Your Day

Glittering, golden, giant eye
Dawn is breaking, bright sunrise
Lighting up a gloomy sky
Makes you think that fire flies

Sliding like a cat to noon
Dining on the fastest food
Then rushing like a startled loon
To your funless, lightless, corporate mood

Stuffed inside a silver box
Herd of humans, carpool flock
Traffic jam, checking watch
Hurry home! It's four-o-clock!

Say hello to tiny house
Plop yourself down on the couch
Wait for dinner from the spouse
Children loud as thunderclouds

Then you all get tucked in tight
Turn off the lights and close your eyes
Calm and peaceful deep-blue night
And soon will come the next sunrise
