"And all I ever wanted, and all I ever needed, hmm lala-" Danny's voice drifted off as he continued to write his song on his guitar. It was late, around three or four. He Mike and Sam had spent the night out. Somehow Mike and Samy were clicking, they practically spent the entire night talking to each other and nearly forgetting Danny's presence. He never had to deal with this before. Back in highschool in Edge Park, he always got a lot of attention. He had always been a good looking kid and the girls at school wouldn't let him forget it. And suddenly things were different, Mike was Samy, and Danny wasn't. All he could do was smile and nod, and try to be happy for them. They got along, so what? No biggy. Right. No biggy. Thats why his eyes nearly fell out of his head when he heard Mike ask her out. And even worse when she said yes. The world could be so unfair sometimes. A nock at the door interrupted Danny's thoughts.

"Who is it?" he called. No answer. Go figure. He opened the door anyway. In front of him stood a girl, a few inches shorter then him with big brown eyes pouty lips and light brown hair. "Em?"

"Hi Danny." The girl said meekly. Danny knew she was anything but meek.

"What are you doing here?" he asked in disbelief. He thought he left her back in Edge Park and that's it. Girls. He thought.

"I cam to see how your doing." she said as if it were no big deal, as if Edge Park wasn't about 50 miles away.

"At four in the morning?"

"I missed you." she said, barely above a whisper. I missed you? Whattt? Emily had just been a fling. A long fling. It was clear neither of them felt anything in the relationship and they both thought it was okay to just be 'friends with benefits'. Or so he thought. "Danny, when we used t o hook-up n' stuff, I thought I didn't care. And even when you were with other girls I thought it could never bother me, until it actually did bother me, but I...tried to make myself not care. N' when you said you were leaving I pretended I was okay with it, but I'm not. Cause I miss you. N' I want you back." she said, looking him in the eyes as if she were pleading. Danny moved away from the doorway and let her in. What the hell am I supposed to do now? He didn't have much time to think about it, because Emily already had her arms around his waist, she reached up to kiss him. At first he thought he should fight it. I'm back in Birksville. I thought I got away from Edge Park, I thought I was done with that. But then he gave into Em's brown eyes and kisses. Mike was probably out somewhere, maybe even with Samy. Why him? Why her? Why am I not with Sam, why Mike?

Somewhere in the back of his mind Emily became Samy, and everything was okay.
